The Dandbury Collection

"He(Dalt) found them at an auction. Southaby's, New York. He was buying rare armor for the collection and found the books. He has no idea what they are. ..."

"Milton Danbury was an occultist. A 33⁰ Freemason. He collected thousands of books on occult matters. Wrote numerous books. He was thought to be insane from time to time. He ran a circle of "Warlocks" and claimed to do real magic. He died of unknown causes at home. His family sold his estate to pay off debts. Dalt bought the collection as well as more mundane books they were sorted with. Paid lavishly, and came here"

Abyssal Tomes

Advoisft

The Advoi is a level of the abyss near the top. It has considerable traffic in goods and services to and from Chaos and other Black Zone world. Its a travelogue. Best hotels, best brothels, best restaurants, best torture arenas. ... for an abyssal level. Bently at Rasak's King Random's Village with Dalt, Rafe, & Curious.

ΞθΚεζ

He chuckles..”Figure in the Abyss..... This is a text book about how to write plays about complicated mathematics. Dramas of Calculus, Tragedies of trigonometry, comedies of Algebra. Farces about Geometry. No idea what level its from but they glorify the . Bently at Rasak's King Random's Village with Dalt, Rafe, & Curious.

㊗㊤㊏㊐㊑㊓㊔㊕㊖㊔㊗

Congratulations-High-Earth-sun-stock-society. Name-special-financial-Name

This seems to be a title document for some type of animal property. Possibly a slave contract in the Abyssal level of its orogin. It appears to list the contents of the sale, who the principals selling and buying were. But-this tome would be the deed of ownership if someone wants to find the place in the Abyss it comes from and to claim the merchandise. I don't know the language to tell more then that but the information is probably in the book.Bently at Rasak's King Random's Village with Dalt, Rafe, & Curious.

xcagsda

Another Travelogue. This has listings of cities and regions, peoples... It also has directions to get there from Zilla.Bently at Rasak's King Random's Village with Dalt, Rafe, & Curious.

Klysdale

This could get you in trouble. Its a guide to reach a realm from Zilla. As such its a travelogue too. But this includes how to reach the realm's Abyssal Mark as well for directions for how to assay it. I know a number of people with the Klysdale mark. It manifests in a number of different ways. Its a stable one as well. The trick is finding a shadow of the Mark and this tome tells the reader. Bently at Rasak's King Random's Village with Dalt, Rafe, & Curious.

This appears to be some kind of formal suicide document. Bently at Rasak's King Random's Village with Dalt, Rafe, & Curious.

This is a hand written apology of some kind by an abyssal public servant some play. The author accepts blame and punishment. The punishment is to be just short of death. Bently at Rasak's King Random's Village with Dalt, Rafe, & Curious.

Spell Books

3rd level Magery

It looks like the damage group of 3rd Level spells. The Lightning Suite has Ball Lightning ,Lightning Bolt , Lightning Dart, & Mini-Bolt. The Fire Suite has Fire Ball, Fire Dart ,Flame, Heat Cone, Ball of Fire ,Mini-Wide Heat Cone, Mini-Ball, & Maxi-Ball. The Cold Suite has Cold Cone, Mini-Cold Cone Mini-Wide Cold Cone. None of these are unsual. It also has a couple of the strength spells, Con Light, and Wizard light. These are common as I said and most any practioner of Magery would have a book or 20 with these spells in it.

6th level Magery

Picking up the next, “This is Magery too. 6th Level Spells. The Sixth Level spells are more interesting in that not that many Mages get more then 3 or 4 of the 6th level spells. This tome has Acid Protection, Astral Eye , Air Wall , Bomb , Animate Object, Geas , Area Muscle Spasm , Projected Image, Move Earth , Part Water , Sustained Dimension Door , Passenger Teleportation , Wizard Wind , Stone to Flesh.

“Of these Astral Eye, Geas, and Sustained Dimension Door are the most useful. A mage might kill to get this in his racks. Of course its all Low Order. A High Order protection spell would wallop all this stuff, but without that... its pretty tough stuff. I've yet to see a really functional High Order Geas spell. But Geas is one of the first powers a Wisher-aspirant dives for when they take Masoja of Knowledge Go figure.”

20th Essence

He picks up the listry book, looking it over, turning pages....”Hmmm. You said your Freemason was a summoner? Tried summoning Fortunadus...Makes sense. This is a Listry Book. Its from a system of magic called in Gorbash the Spell Laws. Gorbash is crap.. In Kolbashic it would be called something like Spell Structure Magics. So... Call it Listry, and the Spell Law worlds. The system is highly complex and puts Magery to shame in its usefulness and scope. There are 3 main systems; Channeling, Mentalism, and Essence, plus numerous minor specialties. Each system has numerous spell groups; Lists. What you have here is an Essence tome including the lists for Lofty Bridges, Gate Mastery, and Dispelling Ways. SO if you were an Essence practitioner these lists would help you move around with spells like leaping, landing, teleport, portal, long door and fly. It would help you dispel a range of magics but mostly Listry magics.

But Gate Mastery....fuck, I bet this got your Freemason in trouble. Summons, Controls, Demonic Gates, Greater Demonic Gates, Mass summoning. But in my opinion, if you are going to muck with listry anyway, the 1st circle Gate Mastery spell is Take Familiar. “

Roseque Scent Magics

“Back to the Roseque book. This is a primer to teach Scent Magic. It has a few dozen basic potions-perfumes that you can make. Minor interest, Minor admiration, Minor Lust, Minor Love.. But the good part is that the system can be learned from this book. Its a form of alchemy. On Roseque most these perfumes would be easily available. High School Alchemy stuff. “

“I must eat for a bit and look over your abyssal tomes to make a determination on them. Give me a couple hours.” He starts summoning foods he clearly likes but that Rafe and Dalt can in no way identify

Dalt, Rafe, Curious & Bently

Dalt returns abruptly, with Bently, Curious, and Gunner in tow. Gunner is blindfolded but otherwise unbound. Dalt walks him out of the front door." When the Door shuts you can remove your blindfold. But stay inside my front porch or guardian spirits will take you. I can't protect you from them. There is a replicator in the coca cola ice chest. Have a few beers" (edited)

After shutting the door Dalt walks to Rafe and Bently and Curious in human form. Bently starts pulling books and looking at the first page. He looks at Rafe, nods, then takes a book to the table, leaving it closed. Curious rubs the binding of each, the starts looking over the Abyssal tomes and spell books.

Bently looks to Dalt, "What do you wish of me, sir? This goes far beyond my agreement with Sylex and Raphaël. It requires I act in my role as Masoja of Knowledge." (edited)

I look from Bently to Dalt, nodding my head up and down a bit.

"Yeah, that's what I suspected" I say to Dalt in reply to Bently's declaration of his help on this project going beyond his current agreement.

"So, a separate agreement will have to be made. I know I said I'd cover the price, Dalt... and if I can, I will, but maybe this is an opportunity for you to learn about Bargaining with Dufiro first hand. Perhaps you should Bargain with Bently directly for what you want."

I turn to look at Bently. "Would this be agreeable to you, Bently?" (edited)

Then I turn to look at Curious. "And what about you, Curious? Here just to observe? Advise? Or make your own Bargain?"

Bently looks to Dalt, "He's treated me like a cook rather then a chef...Its time to learn the Dufiro are layered. Yes.. I will state I am favorably inclined considering your collection. But...Raphaxaelicus, you should show him... So, Al Asgo Illuminar, i am favorably inclined. State the scope of information interested in from a Masoja of Knowledge or a Masoja of Paper." (edited)

"I should have seen that coming" I say to Bently then give him a respectful nod of my head. "Thank you, Bently; Masoja of Knowledge and Paper for coming and for hearing us out."

I bow to him respectfully then turn to Dalt.

"Okay, Dalt; what information, specifically, are you looking to gain about these Durfiro, Abyssal, and Magical Tomes?"

Dalt says, " What races are the tomes? What are the non-race ones? Is the Dufiro magic high order or low order? What are the Abyssals. What did I acquire? How does this collection compare to the run of other summoners? ya know, whats the deal? Are any of the other books worthwhile?"

((How much of that can Rafe answer without Bently's help? I know the Abyssal Tomes Rafe knows nothing of, but the Dufiro Tomes, he might be able to answer some if not all... maybe)) NEW

Vek et al. — Yesterday at 8:16 PM (He might be able to identify the races. but he would have to read the tomes to understand details like what each bargins for, thier professions, what thier rituals need. Rafe's understanding of the languages is far from expert NEW

Rafe aka Raphax — Yesterday at 8:20 PM ((OKay, so Rafe could give Dalt 'the basics' about each Dufiro Tome, but Bently would be needed for the greater details. that's a start))

Rafe aka Raphax — Yesterday at 9:02 PM "Okay, Dalt. I gotcha. A lot of that I can answer without Bentley's assistance, however, there might be more detailed information you may require that I cannot provide. So, I'm going to bargain with Bentley to act as a Consultant and even an Overseer for this project I have accepted. I feel it's important that I remain Central in this research for you as you did make a bargain with me, I am a Dufiro, and I do have a Reputation to uphold. You are giving me your best here in this place with my payment, the armor. I must do the same for you. My bargain with Bentley will be mine alone and any payment will be mine to bear. After all, I certainly don't want you giving bad testimony for me someday."

I give him a smile and a nod of my head then turn to Bentley.

Curious, reading over the earth books, chuckles and whispers, "meow..."

"Bently; Great Masoja of Knowledge" I begin, then bow. "Forgive me for not using your more proper name for a Bargaining Session, and for not offering appropriate food, drink or other libations, for I know not what these things are for I do not possess any of your Tomes. I was ill prepared for this meeting. The fault is mine. Again, I ask for forgiveness." I bow again then continue.

"As you heard, my Client; Prince Dalt of Eregenor requires information about and evaluation of this collection of Tomes. And as you heard, I can provide some of what he requires, but my knowledge of the Dufiro languages, despite your excellent teachings, is not sufficient for the job. I humbly ask for your assistance as a Masoja of Knowledge to act as a Consultant and an Overseer for this Project. I will provide what information I can for my Client and whatever I cannot provide I ask for your assistance to 'fill in the blanks'. Especially concerning the Abyssal Tomes."

"Despite my limited, but growing, knowledge of the Dufiro Language and Culture, I do possess knowledge about this collection that you, Great Masoja of Knowledge, might find interesting enough to accept as payment in full for your services. Most of this information I have already shared with my client."

"However, if I over estimate the value of my knowledge, then further payment can be discussed."

I nod my head respectfully and await a repsonse. (edited)

Vek et al. — Yesterday at 9:43 PM He nods, " The occurrence of this barter is unusual and unexpected by either of us. I acknowledge your offer accepting the blame but reject it due to our familiarity and our mutual affection for Sylex of Cleanliness. No insult is given, no apologies necessary. "

He smiles leaning back, making symbols on the table, "As for food and drink, please....As an Avasa of Health and Life, my ability to procure such things is far beyond yours. At the moment i wish Absinthe and Goat cheeses ..oh.. and onion tarts.... "

He produces enough for 4 and waves Dalt and Curious to seats.

"I will allow you to serve the absinthe and i will critique your service. Also, Your second is Prince Dalt. Mine is Crizacraxix Galxata. Are we in accord so far?" (edited)

Dalt sits watching carefully. He nods to Bently

Curious sits and says to Bently, "Meow..."

Rafe aka Raphax — Yesterday at 10:06 PM "Yes; we are in accord." I reply.

I stand to serve the absinthe, knowing more or less how to do it from Movies and having it served to me once in a underground absinthe bar.

I place the glasses under the spigots, place the spoons across the top of each glass under the spigot, then place sugar cubes on the spoons, then open the spigots, a little at a time, until each flows evenly and slowly enough to melt the sugar, but not too slowly. Once ready, I shut off the flow to each, making sure each glass is equally filled, then serve a glass to Bently, then Curious, then Dalt and finally myself before I sit down. NEW [10:08 PM] I await my critique before continuing the bargaining. NEW

Vek et al. — Yesterday at 10:13 PM Bently sips, nods, "Acceptable, though back in Ang Ri we may discus it informally. The collection is interesting. Especial considering the length a human would have had to go to get even the least of the tomes. I would consider the circumstances of the collection for partial payment concerning the dufiro tomes alone. Though when it come to final terms, i have a whopper of an ask. NEW

Rafe aka Raphax — Yesterday at 10:18 PM "I am quite intrigued to know what 'whopper of an ask' you would have to ask of me. If it is not rude to ask now; what is it?"

I sip the absinthe then try an onion tart, but totally avoid the goat cheeses. NEW

Vek et al. — Yesterday at 10:37 PM "You are a Spasa, of your first race. I know you will seek others before advancing to Avasa. You must find your way to your first Avasa race. But....Your second would be Health, under my tutaledge. Taking any other race second, or any other instructor, would be a breech of bond and would require a term as Rot. Of course many other actions will occur before your second Avasa race and till then, will will be known to have a long term bond, one we both benefit from, including much i can tell in this collection."

Curious whistles, "m...e...o...w....." (edited)

Rafe aka Raphax — Yesterday at 10:48 PM "What he said" I say, pointing at Curious.

"But more importantly; your required payment for services to be rendered is acceptable. However, there is one piece of information I feel you must know before the agreement is sealed... it's about a Dufiro that was involved with the owner of this collection. A Masoja of Rage and Warfare. I will not speak the name I know, for I know not if it is a Speaking Name or Calling Name because I certainly don't want to attract his attention. His name sounds like the words 'ooze' and 'gotta'. I'm not sure if this information is important or not, but I felt I had to tell it now." NEW

Vek et al. — Yesterday at 10:52 PM "Uzgata of Rage...How was he connected to the collection?" NEW

Rafe aka Raphax — Yesterday at 11:00 PM "That is part of the information I am to give you in payment.... I guess now is as good a time to start as any."

I take a sip of absynthe then tell Bently and Curious what I know about the collection, just like I told Dalt about 15-20 minutes ago... Milton, Adledross, Realmer and Fort. Then I add in the part about Uzgata and how he was involved with Milton and the Masons and how he got tied in with Fortunadus.

"I'm not exactly sure how it all ended. Uzi decided to wait until Fort was clear of Adledross then the two faced off. Fort is obviously still alive so things must have turned out bad for Uzi." NEW [11:05 PM] I stand, walk over to the collection and withdraw three Tomes; the three that Milton had in the 3d Rasak file I saw.

"I know for sure Milton had these three while on Adledross." NEW

Vek et al. — Yesterday at 11:08 PM Curious says, "meow....cough, cough....Fortunadus is well known among the Dufirosm as a formidable opponent and a powerfully determined friend. His own Dufirosm life path is unknown, a closely held secret of Nur al Din's. That knowledge would be highly tradable." NEW

Rafe aka Raphax — Yesterday at 11:12 PM "I'm sure it would be, in the right circles. But it is not something I know and not something I would share, if I did know, considering he is my mentor and he wants it kept secret."

Vek et al. — Yesterday at 11:13 PM Bently looks to Dalt," Temptation to folly is often a part of Dufiro bargaining. To test one's scruples."

Dalt says, "Good to know"

Rafe aka Raphax — Yesterday at 11:19 PM "Yeah. Good to know."

Vek et al. — Yesterday at 11:19 PM Bently says,"Continue"

Bently adds, "By the way, Uzgata is currently forcibly bound to a rock in some ocean in shadow. This is known"

Rafe aka Raphax — Yesterday at 11:23 PM "Oh" I say with a smile followed by a little chuckle. "So THAT'S what Fort did to him. Daaannnng."

Vek et al. — Yesterday at 11:24 PM

Dalt nods, "He seems such a peaceful bard. So....the tomes..."

Rafe aka Raphax — Yesterday at 11:31 PM "Right. The tomes. So... basically, I know that Milton came across one or more Dufiro Summoning Tomes on his Earth world. I know that through those tomes he was connected to Uzgata, who intended to use the Masons then eventually kill them all. Then the Adledross incident occurred. Then the Masons were all supposed to have been Mind Blanked and sent back home to North Dakota, Earth."

"However, the size and scope of this collection tells me that Milton, at the very least, retained some or all of his memories from Adledross, where he and his Freemason followers learned real magics from Realmer and Fort... which may have spurred his interests in Magic and the Occult and drove him to collect what we see before us." NEW [11:36 PM] "And now that it has been mentioned.... the collection does seem rather large for a single person to collect in a single human lifetime. Hmmmm.... perhaps.... the Freemasons' exposure to... well, something outside their world, people of great power and places of reality, gave them that 'long life thing'. Might explain how Milton got all these books. Or... he found other collections and bought them up to make this one grand collection you see here." I shrug. NEW

Rafe aka Raphax — Yesterday at 11:45 PM "So... that's it. What I know about the collection. It's unusual history, anyway." I say to Bently and Curious.

"As for the details of each tome, it will take time to relay that information to you, Dalt." I say turning to him. "I know you have work to do. Would you prefer it told to you, or written down? As I mentioned before, I could label and catalog them for you, in Thari, for easier reference."

I turn back to Bently. "So, the first part of my payment; the odd history of the Danbury Collection. There may be more bits I can learn, and if I do I will share the information."

Rafe aka Raphax — Yesterday at 11:55 PM "And if you have questions, feel free to ask. There may be parts I don't recall at the moment."

Vek et al. — Today at 12:04 AM Bently says, "As you noted, it will take time for me to go over the tomes. But right off your story of these ...masons.... does enlighten one thing; There are Spasa, Avasa, and Masoja tomes for Dufiro in the Hierarchy of Death, including a Rot masoja and a Rage Avasa. These would lead me to think they were seeking to defeat death. I would suggest calling the Death Spasa and find out what deals they made. "

"Beyond the tomes are spell books, and lets call then general dufiro books.

  • Gorbashic Curses is a collection of small annoying curses. Itch, fart, bad breath, lose bladder control. And such.
  • Vomos Cantrips is a tome of 40 low power cantrips. Gorbash is the usual cantrip tounge but these are the simple common cantrips.
  • Gorbash Primer is a learning book for Vomos only readers
  • Halta Poetry is aimed mostly at Avasa romantics like Life, Music, Whimsey
  • Kolbashic Legal Terms is a law book. A well known general primer for Masoja seeking Knowledge Race
* Hierarchy of Fire Tales is fire oriented legends. Actions of ancient dufiro in the Hierachy of fire. (edited)

He goes on, " The last four are interesting.

  • Halta Spells teaches low order spells in the 5th, 6th, and 7th levels in Magery, Illusionism and Wizardry for those fluent in Halta.
  • Releck Rituals helps ritualists refine the Relek rituals beyond what is listed in summoning books. Esoteric influences to help facilitate satisfactory bargaining
  • Vomos Music would best be described as simple, maybe even children's music.
  • Nona Music is aimed at low grade Masoja races-The elemental hierachies, Change, Growth, cleanliness, as well as minor masoja races like Paper, Color, and others with few adherants. (edited)

"Of the other non-dufiro spell books thats interesting is Roseque Scent Magics. This volume includes formulae for creating scent based spells common in Roseque."

Picking up a book, “3rd Level Magery Spells. This is a common book any Mage would have. It looks like the damage group of 3rd Level spells.

  • The Lightning Suite has Ball Lightning , Lightning Bolt , Lightning Dart, & Mini-Bolt.
  • The Fire Suite has Fire Ball, Fire Dart ,Flame, Heat Cone, Ball of Fire ,Mini-Wide Heat Cone, Mini-Ball, & Maxi-Ball.
  • The Cold Suite has Cold Cone, Mini-Cold Cone Mini-Wide Cold Cone.

None of these are unusual. It also has a couple of the strength spells, Con Light, and Wizard light. These are common as I said and most any practitioner of Magery would have a book or 20 with these spells in it.”

Each system has numerous spell groups called Lists. What you have here is an Essence tome including the lists for Lofty Bridges, Gate Mastery, and Dispelling Ways.

"SO if you were an Essence practitioner these lists would help you move around with spells like leaping, landing, teleport, portal, long door and fly. It would help you dispel a range of magics but mostly Listry magics.

"But Gate Mastery....fuck, I bet this got your Freemason in trouble. Summons, Controls, Demonic Gates, Greater Demonic Gates, Mass summoning. But in my opinion, if you are going to muck with listry anyway, the 1st circle Gate Mastery spell is Take Familiar. “

Give me a couple hours.” He starts summoning foods he clearly likes but that Rafe and Dalt can in no way identify.
