Trip
Until his sophomore year of high school, Trip was a fairly normal student. Admittedly, he was the son and heir presumptive to Charles Allen Lerner Jr, head of LernerTech Pharmaceutical company. Admittedly, he was a starting member of three varsity teams (american football, ice hockey and lacrosse). Admittedly, he was getting good grades at one of the best private schools in Freedom City. But aside from that, he was fairly normal. Until the football state championship.
Early in the game he was tackled and destroyed the ACL in both knees. Surgery wasn't an option as there wasn't enough tissue to reattach. So, his father managed to get the doctors to try a new treatment from LernerTech that was supposed to help regrow damaged tissue. It worked too well, making Charles Allen Lerner III superhumanly strong, fast, and tough.
Once the treatment had started to work (and it became apparent how well it had worked) all of the information about it disappeared from LernerTech's computer systems, including all of the off-site backups. At the same time, one of the chemists on the project went missing, only to turn up dead in a car crash a month later.
Now, he is starting his junior year of high school. Now he is no longer Big Man on Campus. Now he is beginning to feel like a fish really, REALLY far out of water.
