Background

Reiko was born to a pair of western otakus living in Japan. They even gave their daughter a Japanese name despite being obviously 100% Caucasian. This has cause her a number of problems over the years. Most kids having trouble understanding that this foreign looking girl wasn't actually foreign. Reiko doesn't even know how to speak English.

Despite it all, she tries to be positive and upbeat, but it's hard sometimes. She's joined the water polo team hoping that it'll help her fit in better.

Relationships

Takata Natsumi - She and Reiko do not get along at all. Reiko is a frequent target of her bullying.

Kagematsu Reiji - Reiko has a huge crush on him, but would never approach him as she doesn't think she could take rejection.

Orifushi Mafuyu/Chloe Seyfried - One of the few people Reiko considers a friend. She's one of the few people that knows what it's like to be an "outsider".
