Jonah A. Dickinson Baronet of Fire

The Power of Fire is a commanding sight. A tall, heavy man, perfectly sculpted, skin as black as coal, head perfectly shaved. His eyes are full of dancing flames, although in the prosaic he frequently disguises them by wearing dark glasses. He is often seen smoking, although he never displays a cough or anything belying infirmities related to the habit.

Attributes

Aspect 3

Inhuman 5/5 Aspect Miracle Points

Jonah is infused with the essence of Fire. His skin has darkened, his body has surpassed human perfection and gone towards what sculptors can only imagine.

I have 3 Aspect. That means I perform Level 3 and under Miracles for 0 MP. I perform Level 4 Miracles for 1 MP, I perform Level 5 Miracles for 2 MP, I perform level 6 or 7 Miracles for 4 Miracle Points and I can perform level 8 through Level 9 Miracles as a Word of Command which costs 8 MP.

Domain 1

Baronet, or Weak Domain 5/5 Domain Miracle Points

Fire is the giver and destroyer of life, it is the passion that creates love, and also the anger that breaks it. Jonah sees Fire as mostly a destructive force, as the great equalizer, rendering everything to ashes, but that is a view fueled by his own anger and bitterness. Correspondences for the Estate include Warmth, Anger, and Passion.

I have 1 Domain. That means I perform Level 1 and under Miracles for 0 MP. I perform Level 2 Miracles for 1 MP, I perform Level 3 Miracles for 2 MP, I perform level 4 or 5 Miracles for 4 Miracle Points and I can perform level 6 through Level 9 Miracles as a Word of Command which costs 8 MP.

Realm 2

Title 5/5 Realm Miracle Points

Short description of your Character' role in the Chancel (I know, you don't have one yet) and why she has this level of Realm. It should include the "stink of Nobility" description inherent to this Attribute.

I have 2 Realm. That means I perform Level 2 and under Miracles for 0 MP. I perform Level 3 Miracles for 1 MP, I perform Level 4 Miracles for 2 MP, I perform level 5 or 6 Miracles for 4 Miracle Points and I can perform level 7 through Level 9 Miracles as a Word of Command which costs 8 MP.

Spirit 1

Title 5/5 Spirit Miracle Points

Jonah is intense, but not overwhelming. His anger and passion are strong, but entirely human, not divine.

I have 1 Spirit. That means I can have 2 anchors. My Auctoritas raises the level of all Miracles cast against me by 1 Miracle Level. I only have to perform the Rite of Holy Fire every two weeks. With the Rite of the Last Trump I can convert 4 MP of any type into 1 MP of any other.

Gifts

The Sovereign's Gift

Although just a Baronet, Jonah can control fire around him with some ease. 3 points.

Flaming Gaze

Jonah can cause anything flammable to smoulder and catch fire with but a gaze from his flame-filled eyes. 1 point, derived from Flame-Breathing in the book.

Handicaps/Limits

Revelatory Trait: Flame-filled eyes.

Gives 1MP whenever it gives his nature away.

Code of the Fallen Angels

Corruption is the highest principle. Suffering is a form of corruption. Power justifies itself.

Jonah is a bitter, resentful man. When it was revealed to him that a higher, untouchable power took away all that he held dear, while at the same time giving him greatness, he realised that power was not granted to the worthy, it was simply granted, seemingly randomly, and those who held it would do with it what they willed. Corruption in a world with these rules is revelation, for the truth is utterly corrupt, and suffering is the catalyst for enlightenment.

Bonds

5: The memory of Delilah, his murdered wife. 5: Their beautiful, sixteen-year old daughter, Abigail. 4: The sanctity of the Estate of Fire. 4: The Chancel, made with Delilah's sacrifice. 2: His wedding ring.

Describe who they are, why you love or hate them, and what you use them for, perhaps how their life has changed since becoming an Anchor.

History

Jonah was a lawyer. Not a high-stakes criminal lawyer, but a small-scale but well-respected civil lawyer, the only one in town. He liked his work, especially as he had to fight his way out of a humble upbringing to get where he was, comfortable. Delilah was his childhood sweetheart, who was there waiting for him when he got back from law school. Their relationship was about as perfect as these things get in an imperfect world, and they were soon married, and soon after that, they had a daughter.

Jonah was happy, genuinely happy. He had no greater desire than to come back home from work and see the smiling faces of his wife and daughter. And he was, as these things go, a pretty good father and husband. Maybe he could've spent more time with the family and less time at work, but it's the price he paid for to provide a comfortable level of wealth for them.

And then Delilah was murdered, and the dream was nearly shattered. He was angry, and sad, but he was not a man to be easily broken, and so they grieved, and hated the murderer with all their hearts, but the now smaller family moved on. Until the murders piled up, and piled up high enough for the town to be erased from the face of the Earth and the shard of living Fire took him. And he knew, at that moment he knew that Delilah hadn't been a mere victim, she'd been a ritual sacrifice. And that's when he swore he'd make the one responsible pay. Somehow.

Personality

Jonah is deeply cynical, often dejected or angry. Solid in his belief that the world is completely amoral and the only rules are those of strong over weak, he has a tendency to bully his way through situations. Only his daughter seems to bring out his old, better nature, and to her he is still a loving father instead of an agent of Hell.
