Peleps Taric Korel is a player character in Dynasty & Decadence played by (Axelius)

Peleps Taric Korel

  • Aspect: Fire
  • Concept: Magitech Mechanic and Warstrider Adventurer
  • Motivation: Restore the glory of the Shogunate by attaining a Factory Cathedral and restoring it to full productivity
  • Anima: A giant of fire
  • Anima Power: Spend five motes to be surrounded by flames dealing 4L to any unarmed or grappling attacks and increases such attacks made by him by +4L. Is immune to fire during duration.

Description

A young man with an almost perpetual smile on his face. Dresses exotically yet well, but is almost always followed by the smell of some exotic oil or other ingredient from his work. Despite his aspect of fire he often dresses in black and yellow instead of red, rumors say he explained this with the near heretical words that "the sun is the hottest fire I know of, and he's yellow" although it has not been confirmed.

Background and such

The Five Questions

  1. ) Why are you devoted to keeping this sub-House alive against all odds? Pranzha is tied to this House beyond heart and purpose. His Sworn Brotherhood may be dead, but he will ensure that Tanic's vision continues to look into the future. Pranzha believes that he is doing this because 'Tanic would have done the same to me,' and because 'he loved him', but whether he may or may not realize it himself, the bard is ghost-writing his own opinions and commentaries into Tanic's legacy. Pranzha spent his whole life supporting the Founder, and now he cannot but help himself from influencing his heritage.

Retribution is also a prime drive for Pranzha.

  1. ) The Dynasty isn't all about family. What loyalties and causes compete with your loyalty to House Peleps Taric? Pranzha's life has been selfish only in its indulgence of his obsession with Taric. Now the bard stands at a point where he could walk away from it all. He could leave it all behind and focus on his own duties and work, and not be a worse man for it. Bizarrely enough, Tanic's death has finally let Pranzha step out from his shadow.

Pranzha has the loyalty of the Northern tribes. He knows that he could muster them and begin to make a name for himself across his wife's Satrapy. Sometimes he even makes rudimentary plans, just to scrap them and make them anew a month later.

  1. ) In what ways are you products of the Dynasty? Pranzha's complicated inner life, letting his love, duty and purpose become such a volatile cocktail tied to one man is evidence of a grave decadence, something that runs deep in all of Dynast society. He clings to this shadowy figment of his hopes from the past with the tenacity and melodrama that only a Dragonblooded would.

The bard's versatility and curiosity in a wide range of skill sets is something that only the filthy rich are privileged to indulge in, as is he bred for success, giving him the means to become one of the greatest of his Realm.

  1. ) What have you openly achieved in the past century that makes you a worthy subject for historians of the next Age to investigate thoroughly? Together with his Sworn Brotherhood, and at Tanic's side, Pranzha outwitted the notorious Flock of Sphinxes, and claimed the wealth of their subterranean library. He spent an entire month in a shamanistic trance, recollecting the entire history of the Disassembly of Regents --a particular line of Raksha obsessed with order-- so he could to bind them by their own laws and command them back to the fay-realms they came from.

His skill as a literary commentator and intellectual trendsetter is renown. Pranzha has over 300 patrons of the arts that he cultivates under his auspices, subtly shaping entire movements inside Dynast culture. His writings on the oral traditions versus the written traditions is one of his most ardent commitments. In his most seminal work The Threnody of the Tongue: an Analysis of the Death of Oral Traditions, Pranzha argues that the Realm uses literacy as a crutch, merely reciting the documented ideas of others in a vain attempt at wisdom, rather than developing fresh original thought and embracing the sophisticated born in the self.

Pranzha is probably most known as a poet whose epic poems and plays shines a light of populistic heroism upon the Dynasts. The majority of his work is about Peleps Taric, but he has also written a series devoted to his wife, Sikandi. Amusingly enough, his writings on Sikandi are almost purely fiction, drawing upon her accomplishments but not really telling of her true character.

Lately, he has united the Vinthu'la'gothal tribes of the North, learning their ways and turning them into his own people, loyal to the Realm.

  1. ) What weaknesses do you possess that aren't just personal failings, but could be exploited by your enemies to cost you the Game of Thrones? What are the fields of engagement where you can't just apply Game Theory analysis, but instead will act against your own interests?

Pranzha pays an honest devotion to his children with Sikandi. While she spent most of their lives traveling the Threshold on her adventures, Pranzha is the one who raised and nurtured them. Also, at heart, Pranzha is an idealist. He might believe a little too much that there must exist some sort of inherent nobility within all Dynasts. Pranzha is a serious man, but not a cynical one.

Pranzha on his family

  • Alaric - I remember the accident. He did not run and hide from the consequences of his actions, but owned them instead, turned tragedy into something transformative. I respect that a great deal.
  • Onias - The one out of Taric's children that I get along the best with. I always make time for him, and I feel like we understand each other in a way that some of the other childer of the Founder might not.
  • Hayabusa - Unpredictable, but not in a bad way. Despite her checkered past, there is something about her. I am curious how she will take to entering our fold. With time, she could become a real asset to the House.
  • Aisha - She has Taric's ambition, and is taking on the role of the spearhead of the House with great vigor and conviction. I don't feel confident in reading her motives though, and that worries me. She was always distant to me while Taric still lived. Perhaps this is an opportunity to start anew?
  • Hinoko - Brave. Plays it straighter than her Father did before her. A path that is both easier and more difficult than the one Taric chose. I am afraid she resents me after what I did to her son, but I hope she understands. Hope and truth seldom see eye to eye, though.
  • Grolush - Leased me the coatl I used to impress and finally unite the Vinthu and Gothal tribes. He gave me a good price and being able to skirt the skies back and forth between the barbarian warlords was crucial to tying their fealty to me. I am pleased by being able to seize this opportunity facilitated by my eccentric nephew!
  • Sikandi - My wife. Our relations have never been anything but a formality and a duty to extend our lineage, but her lifestyle fits mine. I believe we are decent to each other, in what little interactions we share, and that is good enough for me. Lately though, she's been reminding me an awful lot of Tanic, and it casts me into melancholy spells.
  • Taen - Cousin Taen... of all us "younglings" you are the most prominent. I wish to be your friend, but I feel that you keep me away and the good words you give me to your friends in politics just sound like... well... that... Politics.
  • Taen - Irreverent and reckless to a fault. I never understood why Tanic was drawn to him. Some say I did what I did because of jealousy, and I won't deny them some truth to that. Having said that, I put the perseverance of our House above all, even envy.
  • Korel - The latest power play of our House. It is important that we leverage any momentum we can gain from his presence without relying too much on him. The fact that he seems like a genuinely decent man cannot cloud our purpose.
  • Medoina - Together with Ragara Noltis, she has what I sought to have with Tanic. She is a good girl, and I do not begrudge her having found love whereas I had nothing but fleeting moments of it. I feel quite the opposite actually, and I will look keep an eye on her and her husband, however vigilant an aging old poet can manage.
