Description[edit]

Caliban's appearance is a stark contrast to his temperament. He has dramatically messy dark hair, piercing yellow eyes (a minor mutation common to his homeworld), and a thickly-muscled, hunched physique that he manages to squeeze into an old Navy uniform. He dresses very conscientiously to tone down his brutish looks, oiling his hair with an elegant pomade, wearing immaculate white gloves to hide thick, blunt fingers, and sporting a monocular augmetic that fits over instead of replaces his left eye.

Role and Responsibilities[edit]

Caliban is the number two officer aboard the Arcadia, technically ranking just below the Lord-Captain and his staff-officers, and answering directly to High Factotum Cho-un Sei. He assumes control of the bridge when no other senior officers are present or if they have left the ship. He has resigned himself to facilitating the wishes of his commanding officers to the best of his abilities. Caliban is one of those indispensable men in any organisation who essentially become responsible for anything anyone delegates to them, without rancour or resentment.

Abilities[edit]

At odds with his appearance, beneath his thick brow lurks a mind capable of surprising administrative feats. Caliban is possibly one of the best-informed people aboard the ship, spending a significant amount of his time on-shift reading the endless barrage of communiques and reports that flood in from the far-flung stations aboard ship. While nobody would look up to him as a combat leader, his reputation for crisp professionalism has endeared him to the crew, and there's usually little difficulty having him stand in for the captain when undertaking routine tasks. He doesn't, however, have a very good head for emergencies, so once situations start getting dangerous it may be best to keep him out of the way.

Personality[edit]

Wry, playful, and utterly unfashionable.
