- Description: Roland is a wiry man with brushed-steel eyes and scarred knuckles
- Background: Roland was a caravan guard of no particular attainment or ambition, until his wagon train was attacked by orcs. The orcs, the guards, and the merchants all displayed amazing courage, and slew each other to a man. Roland claimed the goods as well as the credit for most of the dead orcs, and none lived to gainsay him. He has lost the money in an epic debauch, and is eager to repeat the experience.
