Steve Nguyen (born December 30, 1985) is a Vietnamese American director, writer, and producer.

Film and Television

Since 2005, Steve has been involved with the production of over forty independent films, ranging from a wide variety of genres. Nguyen has made appearances as an actor on network television programs and films such as Las Vegas, Scrubs, Freaks and Geeks, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Jarhead, and The Man Show.

In 2008, Steve directed a short film for author Lac Su's memoir, "I Love Yous Are For White People." It gained traction online as well as national exposure, and has been featured on CNN, NPR, the Saigon Broadcasting Television Network, and KSCI.

In 2010, Steve directed and produced YouTube singer-songwriter Megan Lee's music video, "Love, Laugh, & Live" which has gained national and worldwide attention.

Steve is currently directing and producing an animated film titled "Hibakusha", which chronicles the early life of Hiroshima atomic bomb survivor, Kaz Suyeishi. The film stars Karin Anna Cheung, Daisuke Suzuki, and William Frederick Knight as the lead voice actors. Hibakusha is dedicated to the American Society of Hiroshima-Nagasaki A-Bomb Survivors for nuclear disarmament and will be released on the 67th anniversary of the Hiroshima atomic bombing, August 6, 2012.

He is the co-founder of ChannelAPA.com, an internet blog that started in 2008 which posts current news about Asian Americans in mainstream/independent media in America. As it is frequently updated, it ranks as one of the most popular blogs for Asian American entertainment.
