Background

Grew up on a merchant freighter; recruited for the Marine Academy. After a tour of duty, he found he didn't have the charisma to rise up through the officer ranks, but he knew his way around a ship and a fight (in the bar and the battlefield). That, combined with the skills he learned from his parents, made him a good candidate for the endeavor, as he can safeguard the crew, the ship and their money.
