Background

Did you hear? The Yoshidas have a new kitten! She's called Maruko. She's round, soft, tiny and utterly adorable. They adopted her from the neighbouring village's shrine family.

(She's also spooked about being in a completely new town, so she makes sure everyone knows she's an indepentend hunter. She could survive on her own, she just chooses not to, you know. No moth survives the contact! She's not so keen on those large, noisy horse flies... but makes sure not to show it.)

True Form

Animal form: a small, white and gray kitten. Wears a green pet collar with a bell (unless she pulled it off). Easily distractable. Hey, look, a butterfly!

Human form: about 10 years old, always dressed very neatly in a blazer and a plaid skirt, carries a card with the address of her family.
