Description

No, 'Newtan' is not a typo. Gaius is an Uplifted chimpanzee from a scientific colony on the jungle world of New Tanzania; all chimps and other "experiments" from that colony were given the "Newtan" surname to identify their origins. Gaius doesn't talk much about those days, though, and it's likely he's an escapee - not that it matters as the colony he's from has seemingly ended communication with the outside sector. He's smart and good with his hands, and has a facility with most modern tech, and he's picked up some basic medical skills as well in his travels.
