Oscar Narioch
Oscar is a middle aged man, approximately 5 1/2 feet tall, balding with a rear rim of salted brown hair and flat green eyes squinting over a hooked nose. He wears the heavy robes of an adept-savant, indeed wraps it very tightly around himself.
Background: Practically born into the Administratum - his parents were both secretarial attaches in the same office, Oscar completed his basic training and was dispatched to the Cel Agri-Efficiency Analysis Task Group. Just as Cel marked the pinnacle and end point of the Askellon agricultural system, data on all elements of the continual research to improve yields on all levels - from chemical enhancements to first-tier algae to their cumulative impact on the mhoxen, were received by the local officio, noted, and memorandums with conclusions required.
Oscar kept this up for several decades until one day where he found a set of anomalies in a new data-receipt of shipping information. When he went to his overseer, he was informed it was obviously an error and to recalculate. Oscar diligently did so twice and both times his superior insisted it was wrong, eventually declared the need for a benediction from the tech-priests. But Oscar knew he'd been proper to the machine spirits and right in his work.
When a new adept arrival engaged him in conversation, Oscar found himself drawn into regretfully confiding his concerns...
...A week later Oscar found himself summoned to an impromptu meeting - with his acquaintance wearing a Rosette. Indeed it was the famous Inquisitor Grendel whom had returned to his old guises, and Oscar had given him the key to cracking a Faceless smuggling ring. Seeing potential, Grendel informed Oscar he served a new authority now...
