Dwarf, witch

Daughter of the Dondersteppes. Dwarves of the Donder fear all types of spirit manipulators, so Zebris had no freedom to practice her talents out in the open. But when no one was looking Zebris played. She trapped animals souls inside bones, gave bodies of ash to ghosts, even summoned a speck of a fire spirit. The fire spirit is what got her caught. She kept it in a shiny stone and at first kept it hidden. But soon it was not enough just to admire the murky glow. The first time she let the spirit out was going to be her last - just to see if she can do it. But she was young and lacked self-discipline, using the spirit to start cooking fires was a logical progression. A girl of her tribe saw her and Zebris, without looking back, took her father's goat and rode away. After decades of traveling and collecting knowledge, she made Shaema her home - as many spirit-touched are prone to do. All this was a hundred years ago, but today Zebris still deals in anathema.

Unscrupulous in her practice. No one will ever again tell Zebris what she can or can not do. There are ethics to spirit manipulation, but Zebris doesn't let that stop her. She experiments on living beings, killing them but leaving the spirit rooted in place with no chance to pass on. The creature thus created is a true undead. It is aware of its past life, but its present is a sea of pain, only relief coming from doing their mistresses bidding.
