Alchemical: when making the roll, also choose an Attribute (typically the one paired with the Ability for this action). If your Attribute is higher than the chosen Ability, you may add it as a dice bonus instead.

Cadenza
Resembling an enormous Firewand forged from the blackest Soulsteel, Cadenza is more akin to a ‘man-portable’ ballista. Firing solid metal stakes at thunderous speeds, it was built to deliver justice and vengeance from afar. Comes with affixed orichalcum bayonet!

A fearsome weapon, Cadenza gains +1 to its Overwhelm rating. And, when taking the Aim action, it gains the Area of Effect trait. Additionally, after unfurling to its true extent, Cadenza can reduce the time-interval or obstacles faced during War ventures by one.
Cadenza contains the following Evocation:
EARTH-RENDING ARMATURE Spend 2 motes on Step 6 of a decisive attack. That attack gains an additional die of damage for every 2 Power spent on the attack. This may be used during a clash. * Resonant: against Battlegroups, creatures of Legendary Size and other such foes, gain an additional die of damage.
