- Arwen comes from a long line of fierce women. While most people ran screaming when the aliens came, Maria, her mother, met the first one to come at her with a red-hot skillet full of oil, turning her kitchen into a weapons laboratory that both she and her husband took full advantage of. She survived, and kept herself, her husband, and two of her three children alive. Arwen was the middle child, but now the eldest. Awed by her mother's fierce resistance, Arwen read everything she could about fighting, getting into martial arts and aviation and weaponry, until she was old enough to join X-COM proper.
- Her preferred method of conflict resolution is open confrontation. She'll get right in the face of anyone who's in her way. She flies this way, too: darting and spinning and looping into an attack formation and taking alien ships from close range.
Description
- A product of years of hard farm work, Arwen looks strong, and she's stronger than she looks. She's always alert, slightly crouched, ready for action at any moment. Her sun-darkened skin has a red tint to it. Her bright brown eyes, set under intelligent eyebrows, take the measure of the people around her. She looks like she'd trying not to laugh at a joke. Her speech is rapid-fire, accented and frequently enriched with Mexican Spanish. She favors black: heavy metal and MMA t-shirts with their sleeves cut off, cut-off jeans, work boots and fingerless gloves when necessary. Her hands are relatively large, strong, and calloused.
