Relics of the Gods

Eberron is a place of many tremendously powerful items and devices that are mostly relics of the Demon War and other conflicts that wield powers well above Epic Level. This is a discussion of some of the items that have shown up in our games.

The Sword of Eberron
Major Artifact

The Sword of Eberron is also known as Caliburn amongst other names. The blade is a Divine Artifact that was created by Siber for the purposes of defending Eberron and was made from one of his Claws. The weapon, unfortunately, was broken when it was used to pierce the heart of Tiamat and bind that particular manifestation of Khyber in the darkness below. The Sword of Eberron broke into five seperate pieces that each became weapons of their own. Collectively, they are known as the Five Swords of Eberron but this is a misnomer, the weapons are able to assume a multitude of shapes with the legendary Spear of Destiny' and Trident of The Devourer being amongst them.

The Swords are empowered to fight the evils of Eberron and each wield exceptional powers in doing so. They are, especially, dangerous to Evil Outsiders and Undead due to the fact that they are the prefered minions of Khyber. The Swords can be re-united due to the fact that each of them calls towards one another. However. until the essence of Khyber is fully cleansed from the swords, they will not be able to be kept merged for very long. Furthermore, they will enact a terrifying price from those who attempt to use them.

The Sword of Eberron is a Divine Spark and anyone who possesses the completed Five Swords will gain a Divine Rank of 1. All wielders of the Swords gain a Divine Rank of 0 and cease aging amongst other benefits.

Minor Artifacts

Demonslayer: Demonslayer is a Holy Avenger +5 with a Bane against Chaotic Evil Outsiders. Demonslayer is only a +2 Sword when wielded by Non-Paladins but reaches its full potential in the hands of a Holy Warrior.

Devil's Bane: Devil's Bane is a +4 Defender with the Bane Against Lawful Evil Outsiders. The Sword is Intelligent and can also produce a Flame Tongue ability that does an extra 3d6 Damage against opponents.

Dawn's Radiance: The Sword of Light is a +4 Sunblade that radiates a continuous Protection from Evil 10ft and Continual Light spell around its wielders. Dawn's Radiance is also known as the Sword of Light.

Spellvoid: The properties of this weapon are as yet, unknown, but it is known in some regions as Kerokash.

Dragonslayer: Dragonslayer is a +5 Vorpal Sword that has a specific Bane against Evil Dragons (of all types). It bestows a 30 point Resistance against Dragonfire of all types as well.

Special The full capacities of the Sword of Eberron are not yet known but it is known that when four blades are united, it was able to release a 'Dragon Fire blast of Flame that was equal to an Ancient Gold Dragon's attack but its wielder was struck with Blindness as a result (though this might have been from fire backlash). It is suspected that there are equivalent gain abilities with each use.
