You had to attend the scouts and cadets, but though you knew you would never make it as a soldier (not with your physique) your father wouldn't hear of you quitting. You'd rather have been a chemist (your natural calling, you felt) but daddy didn't want to have some nerd as a kid, so pushed you to apply for military school.
