[A New Beginning]

Character Generation:

Charms (All):

• Characters may purchase excellency packages for appropriate Abilities or Attributes. The Excellency package gives access to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th excellencies as well as General Charms. The Exalt must meet the minimum requirements before using an excellency. An Excellency package costs one Charm at character creation or equivalent BP/XP.
• The selection of a Sorcery Charm includes two spell selections of the appropriate circle. Additional charm selections used for spells enables three spell selections instead of the default.
• Custom charms from PoH’s Hundredfold Facets of Enlightenment, Jon Chung rewrites, Perfect Lotus Volume 1 and 2, and The Demented One are available for use as are those created by Jon Chung and DementedElf. All other custom charms, spells, and martial arts will need to be posted for group review and ST approval.
• All books are available for use, including Ink Monkey material, except for Dreams of the First Age. These Charms will be available during play through discovery, self-discovery or otherwise.

Character Traits

Traits may be of any value, with a maximum of 5 or Permanent Essence, whichever is higher; without requiring the spending of bonus points.

Health Levels

Characters gain a number of Ox-Body Techniques equal to their Resistance.

Craft Ability

Craft is considered a single Ability. Specific crafts are now specialties. Characters are required to use a specialty when making Craft tests.

Martial Arts Styles

Celestial

• The expansion charms for Solar Hero Style are considered to be native Solar Charms, and are therefore only available to Solars, Fiend caste Infernals, and Moonshadow caste Abyssals.
• Lunar Hero Style and Wedded Moon Style are considered native Lunar styles.

Exalted Generation

Solar Exalt Generation

• 5 Favored Abilities. 30 Ability Dots, at least 10 in Caste or Favored.
• 10 Background Dots.
• 15 Charms, at least 7 must be from Favored or Caste Abilities.
• 7 Virtue Dots.
• Essence 3, max 4 at character generation
• 15 Bonus points +30 Extra Bonus Points.
• Automatic Background: Lunar Bond X. The Lunar Bond may be of any level the player desires. An automatic and modified version of the merit Eternal Vow from the 1E Players Guide is also in effect. Said modification allows for the communication of thoughts, emotions and sensations over extended distances. At the player's option, the True Love merit can be defined as automatically included in the above backgrounds; such is not required and may or may not be reciprocated.

Lunar Exalt Generation

• Attributes: Primary (9 dots), Secondary (7 dots), and Tertiary (5 dots)
• Attributes: 2 free dots to place in Caste or Favored Attributes instead of 1.
• 2 Favored Abilities. 30 Ability Dots, at least 1 in each Caste and Favored.
• 10 Background Dots.
• 12 Charms and 6 Knacks, at least 4 Charms must be selected from Caste or Favored Attributes. Charm selections may be used to purchase Knacks.
• 7 Virtue Dots.
• 15 Bonus points +30 Extra Bonus Points.
• Essence 3, max of Essence 5 at character generation.
• Lunars: Heart's Blood background is disregarded. Any reasonable forms may be used with or without a flashback scene, as appropriate.
• Automatic Background: Solar Bond X. Solar Bond may be of any level the player desires. An automatic and modified version of the merit Eternal Vow from the 1E Players Guide is also in effect. Said modification allows for the communication of thoughts, emotions and sensations over extended distances. At the player's option, the True Love merit can be defined as automatically included in the above backgrounds; such is not required and may or may not be reciprocated. Abyssal Exalted

The Allies Background can be taken multiple times, with each one representing a separate ally.

X You have no powerful allies.
Your ally is a starting Dragon-Blooded character, a Dragon King, a minor terrestrial god or an extremely influential mortal
Your ally is a starting Lunar or Sidereal, an Influential Dragon-Blood, an elder Dragon King, a major terrestrial god, a minor god of Yu-Shan, or a Jadeborn.
Your ally is a starting Solar character, an Established Lunar or Sidereal character or an important god of Yu-shan.
Your ally is an Established Solar character, an Influential Lunar or Sidereal, a Legendary Dragon-Blood, a celestial censor or a division head in Yu-Shan
Your ally is a Legendary Lunar or Sidereal character or a bureau head in Yu-Shan.

Provides up to 1,250 followers. Requires (Allies + Henchmen) , (Contacts + Influence) , Retainers , and Resources .
Provides up to 5,000 followers. Requires (Allies + Henchmen) , (Contacts + Influence) , Retainers , and Resources .
Provides over 10,000 followers. Requires Backing , (Allies + Henchmen) , (Contacts + Influence) , Retainers , and Resources .

Mentor

The Mentor Background functions essentially as described in Exalted, page 113, subject to the changes below.

Trait: Effects:
X You walk your own path, eschewing the advice of anyone who seeks to help you, no matter how valuable it might be.
Your mentor is an Influential Dragon-Blood, a powerful local god, an exceptionally wise and experience mortal savant or, possibly, a First Circle demon.
Your mentor is an Established Lunar or Sidereal, or a major terrestrial god (Essence 3+).
Your mentor is an Established Solar, an Influential Lunar or Sidereal, a Legendary Dragon-Blood, a minor spirit of Yu-Shan or possibly a Second Circle demon.
Your mentor is a Legendary Lunar or Sidereal, a Celestial censor, or a prominent god in the Yu-Shan bureaucracy
Your mentor is a divisional head or possibly even a bureau head in Yu-Shan, a god of Essence 6+ who serves as an emissary to one of the Incarnae or (if you have the nerve) a Third Circle demon.
