Background If Broyan had been born to a different family, he might not be where he is now. His family want another respected craftsman, joining the family business, marrying well, and avoiding the dangers of travel. He wanted to see something more than Laketown, and always listened to the tales of the traders wishing that he could be one of them, seeing the palace of the Elf-King or other distant places. If only something would come along that would let him earn wealth and fame that way, his family might think better of him. And if the same events gave him a reason to wander, so much the better!
