Andres has lead a hard life.  He grew up on the streets and in orphanages.  He did not know his father and his mother died when he was young from HIV.  He was put in orphanages and foster care but never stayed in one spot long.  He would either run away or become a problem and be sent somewhere else. Eventually he got good enough at evading the authorities that they forgot about him and he life alone on the streets.  As he grew up he was exposed to the seedier side of Sunport.  His friends were drug dealers, prostitutes and black marketeers.  He dabbled in all forms of debaucheries and illegal activity, but was smart enough to stay out of jail.  Andres took his illegal practices onto the local college campus to deal to the needs of well-to-do college kids.  This is when he met Effie Baumann.  He and a few friends where out partying at a local bar when Andres met Effie out with some friends. He bought her a drink and they started talking and haven't looked back since. She has changed his live around.

She saw the potential in Andres that no one ever did.  She was able to get him to changes his ways, mostly.  He got a "real" job working as a concierge at a local high end Hotel. He still plies his trades but on a lot smaller and more profitable scale. Effie means the world to Andres and her disappearance has consumed Andres. All he knows is that after a girl's night out Effie and her roommate disappeared.  There are no clues so far.
