He can do that as a Power Stunt using Hero Points. Another interesting feature of the shrinking gas is that the effect is permanent until reversed by an antidote Pym also carried. If he were stripped of his equipment while shrunk down, he'd be trapped in micro-size. This happened very rarely and should be handled as a Complication.

Henry Pym is a brilliant scientist who discovered the "Pym Particles", a substance that allows size reduction of objects. He used that and other inventions to become the superhero Ant-Man. He is one of Marvel Comics oldest heroes, appearing right after the Fantastic Four, and a perennial second-stringer in the Marvel Universe. Throughout the years he has adopted several other heroic identities, but Ant-Man was his first one.
