Arriving in Fane of Zilla

Stepping through the portal Alex and Duncan are struck by the crowds. The arrival spot is near the entrance to a great cathedral. It rests on a spot where on earth the templars were burned but here followers of the Amber cults wait day and night for the blood of bariman to step through the card. It happens so rarely that when it does it startles them greatly. They back away, trying to indentify who they are. Moments paess and the followers of bleys or benedict fade back to thier waiting. Several Chaosians come up. One says,"Fear not, those others wait for ones they admire. They dont know. Im Runso, a non sectarian cultist. We give our admiration openly. Welcome to Zilla. How can we be of service?"

When stepping through and seeing such crowd Alex immediately makes sure her two dragons are near. She is sturdy enough on her feet that she doesn't step back or flinch. She looks up at Duncan in a bit of surprise. "That's alot of people. " As the Chaosians come nearer to them she nods but is uncertain how to deal with it.. so she prods Duncan with her elbow. It was his idea. He deals with it. She knows the Abyss is not directly next door but she does feel a bit anxious. Knowing she carries a mark. How small it may be.

Duncan looks at the crowd, perplexed...."ah... Well, lodgings to start...Somewhere in the Amber quarters...We'll want to get settled in...."

They are quite accommodating and lead them over to a series of cathedrals and hostels and markets that have a distinctly real look. Different individual try urging to one hostel or another and Du can finally walks into one, pointing at hte people to stop following them. Many of them tried pushing decks and pens at them but Duncan refused. "signing something in Chaos could be bad."

She looks at Duncan and follows. SHe nods "that does seem... dubious yes. Well step one is done. lodgings. " Alex looks at the people pushing pens and decks at Duncan. Since she is new she doesn't really expect to be recognized. She doubts anyone in Chaos would be so invested in Amber business. When they have settled in a room Alex grins. "Sooo already going according to plan? how about food do we trust food here? you wanted to go native. " a big smile on her face really enjoying the awkwardness and weirdness laready of this trip ((btw how would she have recognized Benedcit and Bleys followers?))

Escorted to a "Castle Room" by humanish looking staff, the manager is delighted to have family guests. HE is gushy and clearly a cultist. HE explains he is a Nonsectrarian Cultist unlike the fanatics. And goes on about services and such till a he suddenly shivers and walks out suddenly. A man looking distinctly more human steps in. He is in a well cut suit from the 1870s, wears a pair of pistols and a top hat, a dandy.

"Duncan, you are all the rage here. Been here an hour and already I've had courtly types tell me to come see what you are doing here. And you have brought a cousin with you. How nice." Duncan smile steps up and the two hug warmly. slapping each other on the back He looks to Alex, Hun, I'd like you to meet a kinsman of ours, once the Ambassador to Amber, Lord Despil.' He bows, "A pleasure, Lady Alexandra. When last I saw you your genelogy was as yet unrevealed. I don't think we ever spoke. Welcome to Chaos. Well Zilla anyway..."

Alex looks at first surprised at the man who shows them the room his reaction. Then seeing someone in that tophat she blinks for a moment.. sure Amber has seen fashion statements but a top hat is quite a big statement. Though it suits the man.
When introductions are made Alex bows in return. Not a curtsy as she is not wearing a dress. (when is she ) "A pleasure to meet you as well Sir Despil. Yes i've seen you around the castle in Amber of course but tehn as you say i was still a guard. The whole comming out party of me being Brand's kid was a sudden and unexpected one on my side. " A slight grin "Though what a way to make a promotion from being an Elite.. Thank you for your welcome, Duncan here is taking me on a vacation... because it seems i need one." Still not fully convinced but its Alex and Alex only works and has no fun.

Despil says,. "Well, yes they keep track. Some fanatically. They keep track of who they were seen with incase a babe pops up. AS for do they all have followers, yes. Lesser known family have what could be called Hopefuls. Usually Non-sectarians who attend the new shrine till the individual does things of note and attracts followers. Some of the cousins, like yourself, have followers that belonged to the elders. The cults started at Patternfall when the Party for War was defeated in open war. Originally it was Benedict. But Fiona and Bleys were known in Chaos and had followers. Brand had followers but after his defeat and fall into the Abyss his followers switched to others or became depressing death cult followers." "The most popular cults are Benedict, favored by House Hendrake who he defeated in Battle. He as personally attended cult gatherings in Hendrake Hall which i assure you pissed off a lot of chaosians! Corwin, Eric, and Caine have large cults. Flora's cult is something of an ongoing orgy. She told me she was horrified by it. She came to stop it, to shout them down. Instead she fell into the pile. After that we had an orgy cult of expert archers. She is quite embarrassed by the whole thing. Julian has a large cult of woodsman. They recently had a huge exodus out of Chaos to Adagalasck. I have wondered how he dealt with them." Duncan says,"I hadn't heard. So I have followers?" Despil nods. "Indeed. Good warriors, excellent ones in fact. They play baseball."

Alex laughs at some of the awkward situations especially with Flora. then looking at Duncan she nods impressed. "Well there you go your own Baseball team! " She then looks at Despil as if she does not believe him. "i highly doubt i have followers. i have only recently came out fo the family closet so to say... so those would be the non sectarians right?"

"so besides the family shrines and the possible awkward situations one might find themselves in.. anything fun to go see or visit while we are here?"

Despil, "Do you want to see the Bull Fights? High Mass of the Serpent? Sacrifices to Tonacat? Neither do I. There is a cathedral that i think two nature lovers like yourself would like. Dedicated to a pantheon of nature. The interior is the size of a sports stadium. Waterfalls come down all the walls with tiny contemplation nooks. On the ground are the faithful who spend a lot of time swimming and eating. A peace religion. It has a calming effect and Lords of Chaos have been known to go there to swim, then and take a nook to sleep. The water is healing water."

Alex makes a face at the first suggestions agreeing woth Despil those might not be great options. Then hearing about the nature worshipping place she looks up at Duncan. "Well that sounds like something i'd like to see. " Looking at Despil "Can anyone just enter there?"

"Yes. Its an open place. People throw coins in the water and divers collect it to maintain the place but maintenance is tricky out here. There is a temple called the Bizareeee near here. Its technically a Amber cult dedicated to one of my cousins Vek but being a chaosian it attracts a strange clientele. He used to come here and play with them but he got obsessed with one of your cousins and is neglecting his following. Still, they host a wide variety of wild and weird performers from across the black zone. Being a Hendrake he has some legitmacy as a Chaos cult. But its a good show with strong drinks."

Alex nods "Ah good to know. And Vek yeah i've spoken with him once. Briefly just before i learned my heritage. He had helped us with a mission... and send Shaz Far with us to help with the fighting. " She frowns at hearing the bit about neglecting kind of triggering her importance of duty response. But she keeps silent knowing this is not her place. And she is on vacation after all .. "Alright so even if neglected it could still be an interesting place to visit as well as the nature place.

Looking at the pouch Alex nods appreciative. "Thabk you. And are you in the deck? If not we can't trump you. Unless you are willjng to sit still for a while." She smiles at her own inside jest. "Happy we ran into you, made our start quite hospitable. Thabk you again."

"I am in the deck. And you didn't run into me. I had a falling out with my family awhile back. Recently i have been living here in Zilla, speaking withe family here hoping to reconcile. When Amberites arrive here, at that spot, i am called to come see who they are., In this case, well, Duncan and I are friends. We had some wild times when i first came to Amber. Random assigned him to me, and an Elite named Rusal of North Riding. We.. got to know each other well."

Alex takes her deck and flips through it. Finding Despil she makes sure he is more to the top. Makes for faster contact. She looks at Despil "I am sorry to hear you have family trouble. And i see well happy you were here to check who we are then. Makes staying around easier. " She then looks at Duncan. "Let me guess you knew and didn't mind seeing an old friend again. " Alex has a smil.on her face as she absolutely doesn't mind if that is the case

Despite says. "I have e so few. As gor family trouble, those ate my fat. Jurt v and I raideed our family vaults. Stealing powers and secrets we shouldn't have. It's only recently we have been allowed this near to chaos. Not that Jurt comes here."

With an impressed look she nods "Alright then stealing secrets and powers.... yeah that would make people pissed. "
She then thinks for a moment recalling last she had seen Jurt... her face twists in a bit of a scowl recalling now their argument. And Jurt as well calling her tense or uptight.. "No Jurt is still at Amber and usually in and around the castle... or his place of course.." Her voice doesn't hide she does not particularly like rhe man.

"Anyway... " she tried to steer the conversation to a point where she feels less annoyed by. "Duncan what do you want to do first? I know we have the time to hang around but would love to see the more fitting for us sights."

"Music. I have had my hands on swords and bows and dragons too long. My guitar has grown dusty. Heck, i didn't even bring it.. How about lets seek out this musical temple and maybe pick up a guitar at one of the shops along the way. What could go wrong?"

Duncan laughs, "Superstitious? We came to Chaos, something was going to happen. Besides, if something is going to happen, i would rather it happen with a bunch of other people around rather then in some nature church.

Ale chuckles and shakes her head. "Well yeah sometimes i am superstitious.... as guard and elite you tend to pick things up... evne that you know is big load of BS. " She smiles and nudges Duncan. "Lets go then music it is and you need an instrument... wonder how many wi start following yiu now."
