Ayane Sumihara is the oldest of five children. Both of her parents are hard working individuals with low incomes. Due to this Ayane has spent much of her life watching over her younger brothers and sisters. Not the best student by a long shot, nobody was more surprised than herself when she actually passed the entrance exams for a fairly decent high school. Of course once in it quickly became obvious that it really was a fluke as she routinely found herself near the bottom of most of her classes. Only her natural athletic talent allowed her to stand out especially her downright amazing skills at Kung Fu. While her teachers mostly shook their heads in disappointment and seeing her as something of a delinquent(her habit of sometimes ditching school didn't help this reputation much), Ayane found herself quite popular with her classmates due to a combination of her athleticism, natural charm, and generally outgoing personality.
Personality[edit]
Ayane is friendly, outgoing, and always there for those she cares about. Once she gets an idea in her head she tends to follow it full tilt, despite anything that stands in her way and it can be hard to get her to change her mind. She has a pronounced tendency to leap before she looks and due to her natural charisma, people tend to follow her into assorted misadventures. This has further spread her reputation as a delinquent student. The fact that she's quick to take the blame for these outings(even the ones that she isn't responsible for) has kept hard feelings down for the most part. She's not very fond of young children and outside of her brothers and sisters can sometimes seem a bit abrupt towards them. Not actively mean, but she's quick to hand them off to someone else, often with a scathing remark about doing their job better rather than leaving them in the hands of those who shouldn't be watching them. While she won't admit it to anyone, even herself, Ayane is jealous of the freedoms that she sees everyone else enjoying that she feels she doesn't get due to having to watch her brothers and sisters and work during the vacations to help with the family's precarious financial situation. This is a resentment that's been building for almost a decade and it eats at her. Those who know her best worry sometimes about when she'll finally explode.

Father Hiyasaki, a priest of some Christian religion. Was it Catholic? Lutheran? Ayane really doesn't know not being of his faith herself, but she's known him since she was young and he's always been there with good advice when all the little problems in life come crashing down upon her. She sometimes wishes her dad were like him.
