Bartoich During the Age of the Primordials, Dragon Kings were occasionally seized by a compulsion to engage in bizzare forms of dance. The dancers were called Bartoich, and were considered ill omens. The Dragon Kings felt that one so possessed was under the influence of the Mad Ones that stalked the world during this time. Yet, they also viewed the dancers as oracles of a sort. They watched the dances and attempted to divine meaning from them, often in the form of warnings.

The most famous of these warnings was the Prophecy of Cattabrinade, which was created when nearly a hundred Dragon Kings became Bartoich at once. The effects of this prophecy on Dragon King society were many and varied; one of the more important was that all Bartoich were killed as soon as they began dancing, lest the Dragon Kings once again come into possession of knowledge which is best left undiscovered.
