Hindrances

Mild Mannered - Minor - A trained soldier wouldn't mistake Fletcher for anything other than the same, but the average John or Jane just can't get past his wrinkled smiling face and low-key approach to everything. He typically clocks people's radar - even other soldier's - as harmless.

Bad Connections - Minor - Fletcher is a sniper. He is also a murderer. Few enough know about the first. No one knows about the second, all evidence of the act having been erased from existence. Fletcher has no idea who the Sons of Londinium are or why they chose to intervene on his behalf, but they did, and he's waited years for that chit to be called.

Elderly - Major - Fletcher is getting on in years. His active lifestyle has kept him fit, and there's nothing wrong with his mind, but there are aches in places there shouldn't be places, and he doesn't recover as quickly as he once did.

Dossier

Gunnery Sergeant Benjamin James Fletcher put in his full 20 with the corps, spending the bulk of that time attached to a unit even congress didn't really know about - wouldn't want to know about if they knew what they did. Near the end of his hitch, he began entertaining dark thoughts that when the time came, they weren't really going to let him go.

But they did.

After six dangerously introspective months of puttering around, he joined the LAPD as a bomb-tech.

It was a good life. A good balance of endorphins, adrenaline, and tacos.

Then Lenox had happened.

LA being the Mecca of crazy, there was enough happening that he could have stayed put with plenty to do, but in the wee hours, he couldn't shut off his brain, so he made some calls. Two weeks later, a Huey airlifted him right off the job where he was waiting in the wings in the middle of negotiations with some hostage-holding nutter of a highschool science teacher.

Didn't look like he was back in the corps, but he was definitely back in, surrounded by children half his age calling him Pops and laughing in the way only invulnerable people do.

Sons of Londinium: During his first enlistment, Fletcher killed a man while he was stateside. He didn't talk about it, but if he ever did, he'd call it justifiable homicide. Unfortunately, the evidence didn't read that way.

The Sons made all that evidence go gone. Even the body.

Fletcher still didn't know who they were or why they intervened, but Damocles' sword had been his constant companion since.
