tylorva: Right then. You were off to see if there was anything left of the base of the Cleaners.

Mercution_Hastus: Yes, off to see the Cleaners. More Navigation rolls and more wandering about?

tylorva: Nah, you can find it now without too much trouble. I'll post something when turfster gets back

Mercution_Hastus: Hm. Actually, no - not the "base". It's probably ransacked and/or watched/guarded,

Clavis_Morden: ((You know, it's totally not in character for Clavis to suggest it, but as a player I vote that if we come across that stormtrooper again we fuck his shit up and let him answer questions at gun point :p ))

tylorva: Where are you going then? :)

tylorva: *grins at Clavis*

Mercution_Hastus: Well, in the very first introductory part, Mercution recommended for the gang to go to the "cave with the Scaly sceleton". Again, mentioned by the end of the previous session.

Clavis_Morden: "Umm, Mercution?" Something occurs to Clavis as the three (plus Sand) are wandering the seemingly impenetrable maze of tunnels. "When we meet those 'Cleaners', will they know we're friends?"

Mercution_Hastus: ((So, some of those more or less "secret bases" and hideouts. Maybe someone left a note or something.))

tylorva: (( Yup, you sent everyone off to a cave. So you can indeed head for there. ))

Mercution_Hastus: "They'll recognize _me_ - I give them signs, call them out." He knows what to do, yet his voice is unsure. "But now, with all that happened here... I'm not sure how the'll react on recognition. Especially, if I'm not alone."

Atella: keeps quiet and keeps scanning the surroundings. She doesn't want to run into more cannibals.

Clavis_Morden: "Oh." Clavis looks a little worried. "Best be careful then. Understood."

tylorva: Mercution is able to lead everyone to the cave without further incident. The underhive seems ominously quiet. It's obvious to Mercution that something is up and most people are hiding away. Getting to the cave isn't pleasant though. You find yourselves peering into a filthy sewer. It seems to get there, you need to wade through the filth.

Clavis_Morden: "Isn't there another way?" Clavis gives the sewer a suspicious look. What nastiness might lay in wait there?

Mercution_Hastus: watches the "waters" sceptically - though even the word "fluid" is insufficient to describe what lays before them. "Substance" - or even better and more prosaic "mud".

Atella: looks at the sewer. "Again?"

tylorva: (( Yup, this is the way to go. Secret places in the underhive only stay secret because few want to go looking for them. ))

Mercution_Hastus: Bending down, getting on one knee (and instantly regretting it), he tries to analyze what it is before them - who knows, maybe it'll eat right throut their boots, flak, mesh, carapace and all.

Atella: (damn those underhivers)

tylorva: It is just sewer filth. Utterly disgusting but not harmful (as long as you don't start eating it).

Mercution_Hastus: "Well... Just try not to eat it. Resist the temptation." Mercution makes a step forward.

Atella: chuckles. "You're funny."

Mercution_Hastus: "And let me go first - keep further back. Just in case."

Atella: wrinkles her nose and follows at a distance

Clavis_Morden: is thankful for the boots that came with the Lathe mesh and hopes she'll be able to get them clean again at some point. "If we must ..." She sighs and follows behind Atella.

tylorva: You start traipsing through the muck. The stench is horrific and you really don't want to know what is getting inside your boots. (( Awareness rolls please. ))

Fatespinner: Clavis_Morden rolled a 12 on a d100 for 4 degrees of success.

Fatespinner: Mercution_Hastus rolled a 60 on a d100 for 1 degrees of failure.

Clavis_Morden: holds one arm before her face, breathing through the fabric of her sleeves. Even the filtration plugs only filter out only the worst of the stench.

Fatespinner: Atella rolled a 78 on a d100 for 4 degrees of failure.

tylorva: Clavis sees it first. A mass of writhing grey flesh suddenly breaks away from a rotting corpse. Sewer rats. Spotting fresh meat, they start swarming towards you all, teeth and claws at the ready.

Mercution_Hastus: ((By the way, as of errata, Arbitrators finally have proper Awareness skills listed in their career scheme. In Regulator and Arbitrator ranks. In case you missed. ))

Clavis_Morden: "Eek!" Clavis flinches. "Rats! Things!"

tylorva: (( Initiative rolls! ))

Atella: (so... 10)

Mercution_Hastus: ((8))

Fatespinner: Clavis_Morden rolled [5] for a total of 5

Clavis_Morden: (8)

Clavis_Morden: With what is becoming a reflex with depressing quickness ever since she's entered a world where things actually try to kill you and eat your face Clavis reaches toward the holster of her laspistol.

Fatespinner: tylorva rolled [9] for a total of 9

tylorva: (( Ok, rats go first. ))

Atella: (the only possible reaction to that is... "... rats" ;)

Clavis_Morden: ((heh))

Mercution_Hastus: ((No way to actually get past them? As in run forward?))

Clavis_Morden: ((also, how many are there, how big are they?))

Mercution_Hastus: rasises... or, more properly, lowers the shotgun. Vermins - with a nasty bite, sure enough, but with enough disease on their fangs, so they are actually perfectly qualify as poisonous critters. And soon shots'll be fired, rendering the attempt at vaguely stealthy approach useless.

tylorva: (( Right, there are six giant sewer rats, about a third of a metre in length, plus tail. They look vicious and very very hungry. ))

Clavis_Morden: ((A flamer would be nice right about now ;) ))

tylorva: (( Flamers are fun. ))

tylorva: The sewer rats charge each of you, dividing up neatly to spread themselves out, two on each of you.

tylorva: (( On Clavis first ))

Fatespinner: tylorva rolled a 69 on a d100 for 3 degrees of failure.

Fatespinner: tylorva rolled a 72 on a d100 for 2 degrees of failure.

tylorva: They leap and bite at Clavis but their fangs and claws do not make contact.

Clavis_Morden: "Arr!" Clavis wildly swings the staff in her left, hoping to scare the rats away.

tylorva: (( On Mercution ))

Fatespinner: tylorva rolled a 87 on a d100 for 5 degrees of failure.

Fatespinner: tylorva rolled a 36 on a d100 for 0 degrees of success.

tylorva: (( Wanna dodge? ))

Mercution_Hastus: ((Sure))

Fatespinner: Mercution_Hastus rolled a 34 on a d100 for 2 degrees of success.

tylorva: Mercution nesatly steps aside, avoiding the bite.

tylorva: (( On Atella. ))

Fatespinner: tylorva rolled a 81 on a d100 for 4 degrees of failure.

Fatespinner: tylorva rolled a 98 on a d100 for 5 degrees of failure.

Atella: (whew)

tylorva: (( Nuke the dicebot! ;) ))

Atella: (no, I like the dicebot! ;)

Clavis_Morden: ((there's probably some treacherous plan behind this apparent 'luck'))

Mercution_Hastus: ((They count as in melee, not point-blank?))

tylorva: (( And yeah they are in melee ))

Clavis_Morden: ((Atella's turn?))

tylorva: (( Ok, someone tell me what's wrong with my desktop PC. It crashed, dod BSOD, did a memory dump and now when I try to start it, it just says "A disk read error ocurred, pleass ctrl alt del to restart. ))

(the session was ended due to unfortunate hardware problems for tylorva)
