Background

  • Grew up in the H4 in Santo Domingo
  • Attended the Biotechnica 'charity' school, got tapped for a communications track
  • Realized she was being trained to be a corpo shill but that was better than being stuck in the warrens
  • Spent a day off taking her little brother Alec to play in what passed for a city park (hey, it's outside at least) and was recording him when he got run over by a teenager whose corpo father (an exec in Raven Microcyber) pretty much bribed the NCPD to bury the case by reporting that 'eyewitnesses' said the kid jumped out in front of the car.
  • Dropped her first big independent story as an expose on the affair, showing exactly what happened and tracing documents revealing the coverup (after spending all her corpo mouthpiece savings on bribes and a netrunner to get access and confirm some transactions).
  • Also stirred a little shit with Trauma Team, since the corpo brat's platinum coverage had TT checking over him first (he wrapped his car around a power pole after and got bruised up) before moving on to her bronze-plan brother (which she'd just bought for him), and then it was too late.
  • Raven dumped the exec because of the bad PR and the brat never saw the inside of a jail but at least got kicked out of his cushy corp school.
  • The article made her toxic for corporate employment, too, but the rush of street acclaim she got for her first hitpiece made her hungry for more anyway. And if she has to help corpo swine dig up dirt on each other and do some edgerunning to make ends meet before she gets big, well..
