Laelmonia or just Lael as he's commonly called, was born the second in line, and was graced with magical talent. They shipped him through magical schools and training and kept him around to maintain the dim lights surrounding the Kenafin estate. How time flies when you're completely miserable. Luck again shone on Lael and one day, after returning home from his post, he was told to wander off into the underdark and retrieve Gelrir, a cleric of the house that went on a foray and hadn't yet returned, only the cowardly Brielim returned to report their death. Lael was sent to confirm or deny those statements. "Go Male-child, and return with Gelrir, or return not at all." Certain now that the mother superior just wanted Lael dead, he did not argue and took off into the darkness. He traveled quite a while before happening upon the group the house was looking for. But they were not headed home, he could in theory just return home to report they're not dead, but he feared he would not get such information out before being punished for not bringing the priestess back. So he remained with Gelrir and her companions.
