The Black Chateau is a hotel and nightclub that is located in '''Sybus' Caress''' and widely believed to be the most extravagant and pleasant location that otherwise rich and wealthy members of society can go to in order to enjoy themselves to a tremendous degree.  It is also a place of intrigue and personal relationships between the various factions of the city's crime syndicates and the aristocracy.  If something is rotten inside Alfein's power structures then one could certainly find the root cause of it at the Chauteau.

== Building ==

The Chateau De Noir is a location that is found in the heart of Sybus' Caress with a major theater and a hotel with casino in the back of it.  The place is one that requires expensive tickets to attend and it reserves the right to refuse certain customers based on appearance (though adventurers can almost always get on for whatever reason).  The building's attention to luxury is somewhat ridiculous and one has to wonder how they maange to make a profit despite it all, especially given the bar's ridiculous extravagance. Certain areas are off-limits unless one has a '''Member's Pass''' that requires a very large bribe even by the standards of the nobility.

The Black Chateau makes a habit of recruiting attractive female Valken as part of their staff and there's even a joke that they've made an effort to pass human women off as them with the appropriate spells and magics.  In general, the staff are actually quite chipper about their services and well treated compared to the controlling and disturbing criminal syndicates that run most other businesses.  Surprisingly, all of the women at the Black Chateau are here by choice rather than circumstance.  A few actually believe it's a career path to acting.

== Services ==

Theoretically, the Black Chateau is just a theater and hotel.  The Casino is in the members only part of the section and games are mostly privately arranged between patrons or simply ways to pass the time.  The money laid down at them is far more than most Winterweir citizens will ever see in a lifetime.

The theater is one that specializes in dance, magic, musicals, song, and acting.  In what is one of the most shocking bits, the productions are actually extremely good and maintain a high quality towards storytelling.  They tend towards the risque but that's really what you get in Sybus' Caress.

It's a public secret that plenty of the young women at Sybus' caress also moonlight as courtesans but this seems to be something they're encouraged to of their own free will as a way of making large amounts of money from nobles who would otherwise pay less for professionals.

== Known Staff Members Include ==

* '''Mistress Kisa''' - The Sweet Catgirl Matron that runs the Chateau.  It's entirely impossible for someone this motherly to run such a scandalous location, isn't it?

* '''Mer''' - Sister to Ci.  A French style maid from Tythan who is a human being prone to horrifying accidents that should kill a normal woman but she seems to survive quite handily.  Also, a lovable doofus.

* '''Ci''' - The more intelligent of the two sisters, though it's not saying much.  She seems mostly determined to get her sister married to a nobleman to escape the inevitable horrid death that her sister is likely to suffer if she keeps falling down elevator shafts and stairs.

* '''Jacequeline Reneir''' - The murderous spy and prostitute for the Ratkin.  Jacequeline is frequently substituted for by her sister, Angelica when she's on business.  She hates Merah the Cat with a tremendous passion due to their similiar skills.  She also insists that she's a Mouse Valken.

* '''Angelica Reneir''' - Another Ratkin ("I'm supposed to say I'm a Mouse") who is pretty much too stupid to be threatening.

* '''Gaoliene:''' - Has taken up a job there and as far as anyone is aware is under the impression she is working for an insidious and powerful Matron Mother (which totally isn't the case... right?) who is being employed to receive information, relay information and deliver rations. As far as she's concerned the maid uniform and the constant smiling is a form of disciplinary training in that if you can do all of this in encumbered clothes while constantly putting on heirs of cheer you can easily do it on the battlefield.

* '''Lucia''' - A courtesan by trade, Lucia is the kindest and sweetest person you'll ever meet whose still ready to slit a man's throat if he harms a friend of hers.  Lucia is an informant as a side business and eventually hopes to leave the business, despite how nice it is.  Some may know her as a disgraced Priestess of Sybus.  She's also a genuine seer.

* '''Trent Blacksword''' - The reluctant and lewd janitor for the Chateau.  He's currently in this job due to the fact he's deeply in debt and lost his sword.
