He has become more real, the Nameless King, in those years since the binding. More aware. More human. If such a thing is possible for a creature like he to be. But the pact remains firm. And why should it not? The le Farre have kept their bargains: feeding the Nameless King with the essence of daemons; growing his reach and surrendering their souls to him when they die. Debts

I owe...

  • Amy, the Vessel, 1 Debt because I know her creator and the nature of her birth. Yet I conceal it.
  • Amy, the Vessel, 2 further Debts because when I'm in trouble I call the terminator. And she's very good at what she does.
  • Olivia, the Oracle, 1 Debt. She helps me keep my demons at bay. The metaphorical ones, at any rate.

I am owed...

  • 1 Debt by Arlen le Farre, my uncle, because I am the only one keeping him in this fool game of his.
  • 1 Debt by Elmore, the Fae, because I recovered his bones. They were in precarious circumstances, but beyond that I didn't ask questions.
  • 2 Debts by Olivia, the Oracle, for helping her manage and deal with her visions. Medicinally.

Moves

Drama Moves

Corruption Move: when you strike a deal with someone dark and powerful, mark Corruption.

Intimacy Move: when you share a moment of intimacy - physical or emotional - with another person, decide whether you care about them or not. If you don't, they go about their business as normal. If you do, they take -1 Ongoing to Escape (any situation) until they get some intimacy somewhere else.

End Move: when you die, you may place a devastating curse on someone nearby. Specify the effects of the curse and how they may end it.

Wizard Moves

Channelling: when you channel and collect your magic, roll with Spirit. On a 10+, Hold 3. On a 7-9, Hold 3 and choose 1 from the list below. On a miss, Hold 1 and you cannot channel again this scene.

  • Take -1 Ongoing until you rest.
  • Suffer 1-harm (AP).
  • Mark Corruption.

Sanctum Sanctorum: when you go to your sanctum for a spell ingredient, relic or tome, roll with Spirit. On a 10+, you've got pretty much just the thing! On a 7-9, you've got something close, but it's flawed or lacking in some significant way. On a miss, you don't have what you're looking for, but you know someone who probably has it in stock.

Spells

  • Tracking: spend 1 Hold to learn the location of someone. You must have a personal object that belongs to the target, or recent leavings from their body (a lock of hair, fingernail clippings, their blood, etc).
  • Teleport: spend 1 Hold to teleport yourself a short distance within a scene you're in.
  • Hex: spend 1 Hold to inflict 1-harm (AP) on someone from a distance. You must have a piece of them to do so (a lock of hair, their blood, etc).

Corruption Moves

Empty...for now.

Gear

A mystical focus: the Nameless King's black fang - etched with runic glyphs and capped with silver. Ellie wears it around her neck. She inflicts +1 Harm with her magic when using it, and takes -1 to Channelling without it.

A respectable shophouse in Ottawa's old quarter. Home to Mirelle's modest apothecary and her sanctum sanctorum! It has 4 features, and two drawbacks:

  • an extremely knowledgeable assistant (the Namless King);
  • a library of old tomes;
  • magical booby traps (daemonic guardians);
  • and, of course, an apothecary.
  • unfortunately, it also contains many volatile substances,
  • and its location is known by many.

An aging mini cooper.

A Samsung Galaxy S3.

And a snub-nosed revolver (2 harm, close, loud, concealable).

Advances

None...yet.

Personal Details

The Nameless King

Behold the Nameless King. He who sits beyond Death, beyond Satan, and beyond God. Know that he is Nothing, and his touch brings Nothing to those that suffer its sweet caress. Know too that in centuries past, before the Nameless King had even that name - before he had a face, or a will - he was found. Found by a man damned to suffer. In that distant time, William le Farre made a pact. And that pact would save him from himself. But in so doing, he would curse his lineage thereafter and all in his line would too be saved - whether they needed it or not.

In return, they are spared the Hellfire that should await them, and in return they use the "daemons" they have sacrificed; shadows that they now are - bedecked with strange runes and masks of polished bone...
