=== Vs. Astiraxes ===

Collune is extremely careful not to be detected while in occupied areas where astiraxes could be found.  She is especially hostile toward astiraxes and will work against them on occasion.<br>'''Method:''' Collune casts [http://darknessfalls.leaderdesslok.com/magic_spells.htm#Detect%20Astirax detect astirax], modified to be a [http://darknessfalls.leaderdesslok.com/character_feats.htm#Scentless%20Spell scentless spell] and explores an area that seems as though astiraxes could be active.  Once she finds one, she usually doesn't fight it, but instead uses her channeler ability ''Mastery of Spirits'' to force the astirax to leave the animal.  This leaves the astirax unable to posess another animal for a full day, and leaves it too disoriented to identify the source of the exorcism. 
:: ''Mastery of Spirits'': The spiritual channeler may exorcise any possessing entity from a corporeal, living creature. This ability works just like the good cleric's ability to turn undead in the d20 system core rules, except that it is a Wisdom check and it only functions on creatures using a spell, spell-like ability, or supernatural ability to possess another creature. Common examples include a ghost's or spirit's malevolence ability, the magic jar spell, or dominate person.

:: If the channeler is successful, the entity is forced out of the host and back into its own body, a receptacle, or simply expelled into the nearest space outside the host, whichever is appropriate for the possessing effect. A creature that has benefited from the channeler's exorcism ability may not be possessed by the same being for 24 hours; if the channeler had double the possessing creature's HD, that creature may not be possessed by the same creature for one year.

=== Avoiding Scrying ===

Every day Collune uses her spell-like ability to [http://dndsrd.net/spellsDtoE.html#detect-scrying detect] any attempts to scry against her.  If she detects an attempt, she immediately uses her other spell-like ability to create a [http://dndsrd.net/spellsFtoG.html#false-vision false] version of the events being scried.  Thankfully, this rarely happens, because doing so consumes jade dust.

=== Resistor ===

Collune makes frequent use of her Scentless Spell feat by casting [http://dndsrd.net/spellsDtoE.html#detect-thoughts detect thoughts] when she knows she is near a legate or Shadow minion leader.  

When passing through areas where a human female would be prohibited, she can cast [http://dndsrd.net/spellsDtoE.html#disguise-self disguise self] to make herself look like something else.  This is usually fairly risky, but she knows just enough about the Shadow's forces to fake being a gnomish collaborator or a halfling slave, who are almost always ignored.

=== Spying ===

She has several agents of shadow [http://darknessfalls.leaderdesslok.com/magic_spells.htm#Scryer's%20Mark marked] for scrying.  By casting the spell scentlessly, she has had very few of her marks detected.  Kyuad has worn one of her marks since he was a child.  For more than a year, any time that a local shadow agent arrived in town without legate escort, she spent the better part of the day [http://dndsrd.net/spellsC.html#clairaudience-clairvoyance listening] to his conversations.  Prostitutes serve as excellent spying tools - they are easy to get close to and touch for her mark, they frequently paint their bodies with decoration so the mark goes undetected, and they almost ''attract'' agents of the Shadow who like to talk.

She also uses her [http://dndsrd.net/spellsS.html#scrying scrying] abilities to full effect any time that she feels confident that astiraxes are not active in the area.  Known legates are sometimes targeted, such as Dierro Possiogn who she has known since he was a boy.  More frequently however, she chose a servant of a known legate, or a target someone had told her about, such as a resistance fighter scheduled to be in a sensitive location at a specific time.

There have even been events that Collune has marked and then scried upon someone sent to retrieve information on a suicide mission.  She is strongly opposed to this tactic, but the ravages of war and oppression result in many who care only that their death is swift and has meaning.

=== Undertaking ===

Collune had a "day job" in Hillbird - she worked as a local undertaker.  An uncommon job for a woman, it afforded her the opportunity to travel legally, within limits, in order to service other local communities.  Her services were very appreciated by those in the area, as virtually any price is worth paying if the alternative is never knowing if a loved relative will suffer the indignity and torture of undead Fell madness.  

Her work was not limited to ensuring a proper ''transition''.  She also prepared herbs and chemicals for proper embalming and kept respectable clothing on hand in order to allow the deceased to look presentable for a ceremony (Kyuad frequently helped her with this).  

The ceremonies that she performed were simple and honoring of the dead.  She would spend as much time with the family of the deceased as possible and then during the ceremony tell of the person's best traits, and give a detailed and loving description of who the person was (as long as the family consented to this rather invasive and personal process).

When using magic was appropriate or useful, she would [http://dndsrd.net/spellsFtoG.html#gentle-repose preserve] a body for as long as possible, allowing a funeral to delay for a visiting relative.  Occasionally, when she was called to help someone at death's door, she would [http://dndsrd.net/spellsFtoG.html#guidance guide] their transition.  She also has a sure-fire [http://dndsrd.net/spellsDtoE.html#disrupt-undead method] of determining if a body is going to arise as Fell or not, for those instances when magic is appropriate.

In those unfortunate situations where she arrives too late, or when the mind never realizes that the body no longer functions correctly, she can [http://dndsrd.net/specialAttacks.html#turn destroy] the body instantly (due to her [http://darknessfalls.leaderdesslok.com/hp-faithful.htm path]).  This is almost never performed when the family is around, unless children or helpless people are being threatened, as seeing a loved-one turn to dust is extremely disturbing.

The first is a fan that when she speaks into it and then fans it in a particular direction, [http://dndsrd.net/spellsTtoZ.html#whispering-wind sends her message] up to 6 miles away.  This functions once per day.

The next is an earring that allows her to cast [http://dndsrd.net/spellsMtoO.html#message message] at will.

==== Collune's Potions ====

Collune makes potions whenever she has the time and energy.  Some resistance fighters can make use of her combat-centric potions, such as [http://dndsrd.net/spellsFtoG.html#false-life false life], [http://dndsrd.net/spellsHtoL.html#invisibility invisibility], and [http://dndsrd.net/spellsAtoB.html#blur blur].
