Social

Virtues

  • Major: Loyalty

The prime directive programmed into the deepest circuits of his engrams: serve, protect, obey, guide. Above all else ensure the wellbeing of those you adore, no matter the cost to yourself. Sacrifice all things if needed, break your body, but they must remain content and in prime function. Diamond takes this philosophy very seriously, every one of his skills bent towards this one purpose.

  • Minor: Discipline

In all things, precision. Calculation. Restraint and forethought. No impulsive moves, no sudden fierce declarations or glorious charges. There is a plan. There is always a plan.

Intimacies

  • Major: There is nothing I cannot do to protect and serve my circle and my people. (Principle) [Loyalty]
  • Minor: Food, art, and medicine are the philosophies that bring us together. (Principle) [Loyalty]
  • Minor: I must teach Swiftly Flowing Silver how to embody our circle's beliefs and purpose. - Parental Affection (Tie) [Discipline]

Exalt

Adamant Alchemical

Exalt Milestone: Adamant Castes gain an Exalt milestone if their spiritual guidance caused a significant character to gain an Intimacy or if it improved the life of others.

  • Living Artifact

The Alchemical is a carefully created machine, as much like an artifact as a living being. He may hold an artifact to install one of its Evocations as his own Charm during the Rite of Reconfiguration. If the Evocation has any prerequisites, he must meet those. Once installed, the Alchemical can use the Evocation as if it were an innate Charm, without needing access to the artifact itself. The Alchemical can only have one such Evocation at a time but may switch between existing ones during Reconfiguration.

  • Community Spirit

Alchemicals often form bonds with communities that will accept him as their own, and to whose purpose he may lend his strength. Diamond adds a three-dice bonus to actions designed to guide, inspire, or care for his community.

  • Resonances: Adamant

Anima Effects

  • Muse (Passive): The Adamant Caste serves as muse to any one non-Exalt. That person adds the Exalt’s Essence in dice to any roll to which the Adamant’s inspiration contributes. This immediately raises any Extras to non-trivial characters.
  • Be More Precise (Active): When an attack targeting the Adamant Caste misses, he may spend 1 anima on Step 4 to inflict a success penalty to the attacker’s next attack action equal to his Essence. He may do the same on social influence rolls that fail to meet his Resolve.
  • Guiding Hand (Iconic): Spend 2 anima. For the rest of the scene, the Adamant Caste’s allies within short range gain dice equal to his Essence on attack or social influence rolls so long as the Exalt is physically present and not incapacitated. These dice do not count towards the cap.

The Great Curse

Incitement

  • Diamond acts against his Major Intimacy.
  • Diamond acts against his Major Virtue.
  • A community he has an Intimacy toward is threatened, ignores his advice or openly disdains his help.

When Diamond succumbs to the curse, he switches to a Crisis Behavior which lasts for the indicated length.

Crisis Behavior (pg.88-89)

  • Gathering Procedures (Scene)
  • Necessary Instruction (Session)
  • Revolutionary Reactions (Session)
  • Supplementary Paranoia (Scene)
  • Universal Threat Detection (Scene)

Merits

  • Hearthstone (Primary)

The central hearthstone of the Manse in which the Alchemicals dwell, the Isochronal Sphere is a perfect opalescent crystal surrounded in a clockwork matrix. By spending two motes, the wearer can transport themselves and a number of individuals equal to 4 + the wielder's Essence back to the Manse that spawned the hearthstone. In addition, the wielder may commit 2 motes when learning about a change of circumstances or situation to arrive at the location in time to make a vital difference, regardless of distance.

  • Influence (Secondary)

Radiantly Transcendent Diamond is a person of renown throughout not only the Wavecrest Archipelago but also various tradesmen guilds and merchant alliances including artist communes, medical covens, and cookeries; all largely due to his own inspiring personal skills combined with a long history of myriad and helpful workings. When he speaks, people listen, and when he demonstrates, those around watch with rapt attention.

  • Resources (Tertiary)

While certainly not the wealthiest of Exalted by any means, Diamond possesses a measure of funds and goods sourced from the surrounding islands of the Wavecrest Archipelago — especially those taken from pirates and intruders from the Realm.

Equipment

  • Light armor
  • Beautifully crafted and well-kept sword from Autochthon
  • Set of adamant cooking equipment

3x3

  • Ally: Lirael of the Coral Court. A mermaid princess and skilled negotiator who seeks to maintain peace between the various underwater factions. Diamond has been called in as a healer and, more strangely, a professional chef on multiple instances, thus earning myriad favors with the princess as a result. She's tried to get betrothed to Diamond six times now, and each time it falls through for strange and overtly complex reasons. Also known as Princess Mette of the Abyss, a potent faerie noble driven by a singular, unusual goal for a faerie. Tired of the inconstancy of feeding on Creation and the chaos of the Wyld, she's seeking a way to become human; not just in appearance, but in mind and in soul. She is utterly ruthless and amoral in pursuing this goal, and she has reduced many would-be lovers to deadened husks in hopes that they'd give her a soul of her own, but Swiftly Flowing Silver, also struggling with trying to become something greater, can't help but sympathize with her struggle. (Shared NPC)
  • Ally: Qiu Jia. A Wyld-tainted master cartographer who has mapped much of the Western Ocean, and is always eager to discover new lands and treasures. The Adamant Caste and him get along like Wu-Jian meat buns and strong alcohol (that is to say, swimmingly) and the cartographer is often a frequent guest at the Manse between his excursions.
  • Ally: Bastiano Auditore il Sangallo. Merchant Prince and head of the Resplendent Emporium, a floating market where merchants sell their wares from the decks of brightly painted ships. Diamond uses him often as a means of sourcing rare and unusual items from the Wyld or areas outside the Western Ocean, and they share drinks aplenty during these times. Bastiano has tried every time to drink Diamond under the table, and has always failed.
  • Neutral: Leviathan, a massive behemoth sea serpent that is mystically bound to guard the entrance to an ancient sunken city filled with First Age treasures and hoards of valuable magical materials. Diamond has traded his medical services to renew the serpent's tired body in exchange for some of its protected valuables on occasion.
  • Neutral: Gale "Kraken" Glade, a well-known healer skilled in treating diseases and injuries common to sailors. Lost her eyesight due to a spray of venomous kraken ink that stained her eyes permanently black, but was aided by Diamond in integrating her new disability into her everyday life. Often exchanges news and gossip from the ships that travel the West.
  • Neutral: Mnemon "Dredge" Miquella, a Water Aspect fisherman who has abandoned the politics of his former life in the Realm in favor of a quiet existence fishing the waters of the Western Ocean. Occasionally strays into the Bordermarches and ends up catching strange, aberrant fish that Diamond often purchases to use in concocting sorcerous elixirs. Fond of a hearty homecooked meal but not talkative in the slightest, Miquella is usually an introvert and constantly roams the ocean in his small ship, Ocean's Riches.
  • Enemy: Bruno il Veccio di Milani. A ghostly noble politician of Skullstone seeking to make overtures into the Wavecrest Archipelago by any means necessary. Diamond and him have clashed many times over the ages. We don't talk about Bruno.
  • Enemy: Captain Kael the Bloody Corsair. A daring pirate who sails the seas with a crew of loyal and ruthless sailors, always on the lookout for the next big score. Particularly fond of trying to target Iron Isle due to the quality of their manufactured goods and the skills of their artisans.
  • Enemy: Sixteen Shattered Emeralds. A Sidereal Chosen of Secrets that has long tried to pry into the workings and purposes of the circle and their Manse, succeeding on occasion in thieving some insignificant creation or information to report back to her superiors in Yu-Shan. Seems to hold a grudge against the Chosen of Autochthon, but never elaborates on why.
