To the outside world, Jack Clement is a hardworking 10-year veteran of the National Park Service - a uniformed Ranger with a law enforcement specialization - and a devoted father and husband.

To Delta Green, he's an experienced, expendable operative. Jack was dragged into Delta Green four years ago after an encounter with the byahkee that left him with a runnel of scars down his back, knowledge of things he shouldn't know, and plenty of hard experience.

Jack's wife, Mary, and 10-year-old son David, don't know about his sideline. So far as they know, when he disappears for days at a time, it's just overnight business in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, or traveling to yet another boring mandatory training session. Mary has never been able to figure out why Jack comes back from that training so drawn and shaken...
