Kolvir is a relic - he first rose to prominence in the service of an Overlord of a Netherworld that was destroyed long ago. He spent ages trapped in the ashes and rubble, and was dug out only relatively recently by agents of the Principality of Blackbutterfly who'd rediscovered his dead master's holdings. Kolvir expected to be interrogated for lost treasures and secret weaknesses to be exploited by his captors - he was shocked and confused when they sent him off as an attendant to the Princess Honeycomb instead. (Though after seeing her in action, he's beginning to guess why the older and more conservative members of her clan might demand she have a minder...) Kolvir considers himself a veteran of demonic power-politics, but a lot has changed in the millenia since he was last on the scene - he's gradually coming to realize he has a lot of catching up to do.

Kolvir is an odd mix of servile and manipulative. He'll never outright refuse any direct order or evade a question - but he may take his own sweet time, provide a slanted answer or perform an unwanted 'additional service' if he thinks it's in his charge's best interests. He puts his charge's safety and education first, his own interests second and everything else a somewhat distant third. He's somewhat disgusted by the open malice and disrespect shown by modern-day demons - in his day, a proper backstabbing was hidden behind an oily layer of polite respect, not shouted out crassly for the world to see. Whether his notions of elegant villainy and proper protocol are worth anything remains to be seen.

Background

Personality
