'''APPEARANCE''': Ori is a thin African-American standing about 5'11 and weighing around 160 pounds, with light brown eyes and dark brown skin. He keeps his hair braided into short plaits on the top and faded on the sides and back. Preferring to dress extremely fashionably and refusing to wear anything that could be construed as a "superhero costume," Ori normally wears carefully pressed designer slacks and shirts with dress shoes (and a Kangol or fedora from his extensive hat collection). In the months following the first manifestations of his powers, Ori has had multiple tattoos applied over his torso and upper arms--both as insurance against not being to locate any images within range of his powers, and simply because he's gotten it in his head that as a rule, all rock bands should have at least one ink freak in the circle. When using his powers, Ori's body and the images that he animates become surrounded by a shimmering refractive distortion, while his irises and pupils glow bright red.<br/>

The extraordinarily vivid dreams he had night after night only intensified this conviction. Unfortunately, fortune seemed to conspire against him, and his reach always seemed to exceed his grasp. After a series of reversals--denials of admission to various art schools ("lack of independent style"), rejection of his various comics pitches ("too self-consciously idealistic"), and finally a car accident that shattered his hand--Ori resigned himself to the drab, anonymous life he had been trying to escape. Finding work as a data entry clerk for a document storage firm, Ori concentrated on more practical matters like achieving his marketing degree, looking out for his family and chasing girls. But one early morning after a night of having fun, he found himself experiencing the strangest dream of his life. Upon waking, he couldn't remember anything but fragments, but he knew that he had changed. His whole body just felt...different. Standing in front of his favorite Western print, Ori suddenly recalled a scene from the previous night's dreams...and stepped into the poster's image. Seconds later, a woman in a Wal-Mart on the other side of town screamed in shocked disbelief as Ori pushed his way into the world, slowly exiting from a "Man With No Name Trilogy" promo poster with a long tearing rip and tumbling to the floor. Before anyone else could react, Ori picked himself off the floor, leapt into an identical poster and vanished, emerging back in his own apartment from the cover of one of his Dark Tower novels. Over the next few nights, the dreams gave Ori more hints of what he could do, including his abilities of two-dimensional shapeshifting and bringing images to life with his mind. The only question he has remaining is what he ''should'' do, as he's not yet convinced that fighting street crime is the best use of his talents--though he has an unshakeable conviction that God gave him these powers for some higher purpose. So far, he's told no one of his new abilities--except for his new bandmates, his net-friend and business partner Jon Somnius, his older brother Tony, and Zoe Aionos, his on-again/off-again girlfriend.<br/>
