Appearance

Elias is a tall, broad-shouldered young man with bright blond hair and eyes the color of a brisk winter morning sky. Even though he now lives at warmer climates than in his home plane he still stubbornly dresses in the traditional garbs of his home, which is REALLY thick and REALLY warm winter clothing (as a result he almost always complains about the heat. Around his neck he always wears his personal lucky charm, a colorful homemade scarf that has definitively seen better days. He claims it brings him luck and he never leaves home without it.

Background

Elias was born in the plane of Everchill, a plane known for it's never ending winter. He was the only son Percival Snark, a talented (and quite possibly mad!) scientist and the famous adventuress and swordswoman Sonia the Dragonslayer, who dropped him off in the hands of a rather confused laboratory assistant nine months after a night of passion with said assistant's employer. As far as Elias knows, she has never visited Everchill again since then.

Elias Snark had a normal youth, or at least as normal as it gets when your father is a mad scientist working nefarious and immoral experiments for the corrupt communist regime and your mother is a famous but absent adventuress whose only means of contact to you is the irregular postcards that arrived once or twice per year. Still, Elias doesn't hold any grudges, although his father's rather unorthodox methods of fatherhood (that can best be described as a mix of indifference, forgetfulness and empirical research) has left him a bit more cynical than the average person.

As a he grew up Elias enrolled to the proud Everchill Academy of Warfare and Chivalry, set on a course to become a officer in the Everchill Republic Army. Indeed, it seemed as if Elias had a bright future ahead of him until the day everything in his life inexplicably changed and Elias overnight turned into a criminal. The details are fuzzy about exactly what he did, but it must've been pretty bad as Elias was forced to flee Everchill with only the cloths he wearing and the servant construct Wisp with him. Before he left though he made himself infamous by sinking the whole republic fleet stationed around the Nhihn, including the famous cruiser "Iceburg".

On the run and with the biggest bounty in the whole of Mirrorskies on his head (with an unpleasant note saying that he needn't be alive), Elias Snark desperately sought refuge in the only place he knew in this strange, multi spectral world. The mysterious society his mother's postcards spoke about, The Trailblazing Intrepid Mystery Explorers.

Personality

Intelligent, cynical and suave, Elias is ten pints of arrogance in an one pint glass. He's cocksure to the point of foolishness, and there's nothing else that Elias likes better than brag about himself. As a result, whenever he's faced with a problem he can't solve he tends to lose his temper. And guess what, problems tends to occur quite often to our hero, usually because he's too cocky for his own good!

Elias likes his life easy-going and comfortable, preferably with as few responsibilities and obligations as possible. He thinks the bounty on his head (and the bounty hunters with it) is a bothersome annoyance that stops him from his lazy life-style. Likewise, actually adventuring is something he hates, and he will loudly complain to anyone willing to hear (and quite a few who don't want to hear) about everything that annoys him. He secretly idealizes the mother he never met in real life, and often tries to improve his swordsmanship. Unfortunately he's come to realize that the best he might ever hope for is decent.

Finally, there's one thing that breaks Elias image of the perfect no good freeloading uneducated unemployed youth, and that's his soft spot for his servant construct Wisp. Towards her he's can sometimes almost act in an overprotective manner. Most of the time though she's just a servant construct made to obey his every whim and carry heavy stuff.

Elias got a sweet tooth for hamburgers and home baked goodies, he enjoys strong liquor and is crazy about beautiful women (he fancies himself as quite the ladies man. This is not true of course). He dislikes loud people, getting disrespected and monotonous labor. He becomes greatly distressed if he can't find his lucky scarf.

Powers

Besides having inherited a masterwork backsword from his mother and having some military training as a swordsman, Elias has the rather odd power of hydrokinesis, the power of moving bodies of water. He's tight-lipped about how he got this power, and when, but he has on several occasions proved to be a rather cunning wielder of it. Basically, hydrokinesis lets Elias manipulate water in any way he wants (but only water in its liquid form, not ice or steam, which he claims is either too immobile or too scattered and "loose" to control). Anyway, Elias can make water move around, form different shapes, freeze into ice (by focusing on slowing down the movement. Once it freezes to ice though he can't manipulate it anymore of course) and turn into steam (again he loses control by doing this). Of course, to do all this he first needs a large enough mass of water, and it has to be water. The more impure the water gets the harder it is for him to manipulate it. The finesse with which he wields his power though seems to grow everyday. Who knows what he'll be able to do once he reaches his peak?

Motivation

Elias joined the Trailblazing Intrepid Mystery Explorers because he hoped to be able to hide from thousands of bounty hunters out for his head, not to mention the secret Everchill agents no doubt looking for him by now. Largely unaware of the worlds outside Everchill, he frankly didn't have much else of a choice. He thoroughly dislike it there though, and he doesn't give a squat about society's legacy and honor.

He secretly wishes to become a skilled swordsfigher like his mother, which is why he often shuns his hydrokinesis.
