Born on the border world of Athens, John was a restless kid growing up. He had little interest in going to a trade school to continue the grudge work of his parents, and looked for adventure and excitement instead. It is possible that he might have ended up drifting to the world's criminal element, but then the refinery explosion happened. The beleaguered fire department was struggling to contain the fire that was starting to threaten the entire working class neighborhood. And then the men and women wearing a hodgepodge of environmental suits swept in, put out the fire while cracking jokes, and went on to party hard afterwards. And John had found his future calling.

Background/Bio

An itinerant HazLoc (Hazardous Location) worker who upon hearing news of the disaster at Jiangyin hops on the first ship heading there, and that is how it begins...

Born on the border world of Athens, John was a restless kid growing up. He had little interest in going to a trade school to continue the drudge work of his parents, and looked for adventure and excitement instead.

As a group, the HazLoc workforce did not fight in the Unification War. They refused to be pressed into service, with their union threatening work boycotts if someone attempted to press the issue. They would, however, show up in the aftermath of a major engagement, trying to help the civilian population as well as they could.

The workers and their union were not happy to hear the truth about Reavers, and Alliance's attempts to rebuild their battered navy are hindered by much of the skilled itinerant workforce being suddenly busy elsewhere.
