Signature Assets[edit]

Bag of Tricks d8 - For most of her life Very has carried the entirety of her possessions in a smallish rucksack, from which she will not voluntarily be parted. This Asset covers producing small useful items that she has picked up to help deal with problems -- for example, the likes of simple household goods, basic hardware, duct tape, kid's toys, cheap souvenirs, etc.

Background/Bio[edit]

Very was orphaned about a year before the end of the Unification War. Her first memories are of living in a orphanage on St. Alban's; she doesn't have any notion of who her real parents were, but from a few comments made by the orphanage caretakers, she thinks they might have been Independent rebels killed in an Alliance raid. However, this doesn't have any real impact on her; Very doesn't subscribe to any politics that you'd notice.

What she does know is that she hated living in the orphanage and ran away at the age of 7. She was adopted by a group of street survivors in the rougher parts of the capital city, who in turn were loosely looked after by a pair of small-time criminals, Linda and Travis Shaughnessy. The Shaughnessys made use of their charges in their various illegal schemes and enterprises, and Very acquired an assortment of the practical skills of that lifestyle, as well as some knowledge of the criminal organizations that would occasionally employ the Shaughnessys. She developed a particular talent for hacking electronic security and illicitly accessing the Cortex and other systems.

Very joined the Shìjiàn Shìjiè during a job that went wrong. While trying to evade dock security, she secreted herself aboard the vessel and became an inadvertent stowaway when it raised ship before she could make her escape. After being discovered in transit, the crew made plans to put her off at their next port of call -- but she had proven herself capable of being helpful in a number of ways before that happened. They've never gotten around to evicting her from the crew.
