The exact nature of the Games of Divinity is unknown and purposefully vague.  It is known that it was first played by the Primordials, and was instrumental in the motives of their servants, the gods, in overthrowing them.  They were succeeded by the Incarna, who directed the lesser gods, automatons such as the Pattern Spiders, and their Exalted, to take over their duties... and then played the Games of Divinity themselves.  Occasionally other gods are permitted to watch the moves of the game, or even make one, and dreamstones recorded with these memories are one of the most addictive substances in Creation.  However, no Exalt is permitted entry to the locale of the Games, for fear that they too would seek the overthrow of their patrons for the sake of the Games of Divinity.
