Apperance

Powers Haunt's primary power is Telekinesis, as his most developed ability Haunt uses it his primary offensive tool to blast opponents, hurl them or other objects, suffocate or even attack his opponents internal organs. However, Haunt has also learnt to use his telekinesis in less overt ways, such as manipulating his enviroment to an astounding degree of precision, deflecting or guiding attacks, levitating, stunning opponents or creating small bursts to disturb dust or gravel to dazzel and blind his opponents. Alongside his telekinetic abilities, Haunt also possesses a series of other more limited powers including regeneration, the ability to permeate through physical barriers, some enhanced senses and a small amount of magical talent and training. however, his magical abilities are only slightly stronger than the average adept, which he supplements with magical charms and items.

Weaknesnes Haunt's weakness is his own supernatural lineage, and as such, he must obey a series of supernatural laws or risk gross penalties for breaking them. For example, he may not cross a threshold uninvited without losing access to his magic and regenerative capabilities, nor may he intentially break his word after swearing an oath or making a binding promise, he cannot stand between two-mirrors and so on. Further, because of his physiology, he also has a weakness to certain materials that have an adverse effect on supernatural beings including Cold Iron, certain salts and holy water. such materials also bypass his natural defences and inflict a greater deal of damage than they otherwise would.

Background Haunt was born in Cornwal, England, he had a small family, consisting mostly of His mother (Helen Morgan), himself and his younger half-sister (Joanna Morgan). For most of his childhood, Haunt remained in their pleasent sea side cottage, blissfully unaware of his lineage and living am idyllic. That was, until at age twelve, his powers began to first manifest. At first, it was minor, small amounts of what was termed poltiguist activity and occassionally falling through solid objects such as doors, this activity stopped when one day, Haunt suddenly found he was conciously able to sense and move objects with nothing more than thought, he made an effort to hide these events from his friends and even his family, the only being that even witnessed his sessions spent practicing was the family cat, Asp. Despite this exposure to his abilities, things pretty much continued as usual, Haunt thought that his newfound powers had been kept hidden. Of course, they had not, for Haunt's mother had sensed the stirring of the paranormal within her only son's heart, and was intensly worried. For, Haunt's mother was not the simple woman that she pretended to be. She was in actual fact a Witch, one decended from a long tradition of spell-casters, and she knew the truth of her newfound powers, just like she knew the source of his snow-white hair and those canted eyes. With the advice given by Asp, her familiar, she decided that the time was right, to fullfill her promise to Haunts father, and on the eve of Haunt's thirteenth birthday. she did just that. And from then on, Haunts life was very different.

Haunt found, that in truth he was not just a spontaneous metahuman like he thought he was (Haunt was an avid fan of the adventures of the Centurion and others), he was in fact the grand-son of a very powerful metahuman, the Silver Age sorcerrer villian Albreckt Rommel, better known as 'Morpheme'. His father, Edward Rommel, had been one of Morphemes children, whose own mutant powers were incredibly powerful, but also incredibly unstable. While Edward was able to keep control of his powers for most of his life, breaking away from his fathers wishes and attempting to lead a normal life in england he got embroiled in a shadow conflict between various coverns, organisations and supernatural powers that had been waging for decades, if not centuries, this is where he met and fell in love with Haunt's mother. Sortly before Haunt was born however, Edward Rommel almost died fighting the mysterious metahuman organisation that had become intrested in his abilities. On his deathbed, Edward made Helen promise to keep their child safe from those that would misuse his natural abilities. And until then, that had been exactly what Helen did, however, as she explained, now that Haunt had gained access to his blood right, these enemies would come for him soon enough.

And they did, far sooner than Helen had expected. That very night their home was raided, and burnt to the ground. Haunt fled, taking with him several emergancy items that his mother had left for him, some spell books, and his mothers familiar Asp. Since then, Haunt has been moving from place to place, trying to live a normal life, learning to wield his powers efficiently and keep at least one step ahead of his persuers for as long as he can. Those long years have taught him many hard lessons about life, and finally, he has decided to leave England and his legacy behind, heading to Freedom city to use his powers for somthing other than protecting himself, to take the example of these heroes that he'd worshipped as a child, an stand in the light rather than skulking in the shadows.

Motivation Haunt is motivated by the genuine desire to change himself, he's spent years hiding in the shadows and has become fed up with constantly playing cat and mouse with his various shadowy enemies. He wants to use his powers for the only thing that he believes they can be used for, for protecting those without them, for protecting the innocents from truely dangerous threats. Haunt genuinly wants to help people, and he believes the only way to do that is by using his powers to protect them.

Personality Haunt is the knight in shining armour and the bitter veteran and the nice guy with a dark past. He is well spoken and polite at all times, he does genuinly care for the people around him, and feels guilty for the acts he has comitted in the past. Haunt is confident in his abilities and training, having spent a long time looking after himself and under the tuteilage of Asp. Despite his hard upbringing and his constant exposure to the darker aspects of the world, Haunt has managed to maintain a shred of decency in himself, rather than sinking into dispair from the hatred in the world, it has only made him more and more determined to achieve his goals. While Haunt may at times seem to be a person of some morals, he does however have a far darker side, he has done a great many deeds he regrets to help himself survive and will perform such deeds again if he feels they are requied. However, he does not break his moral code without serious thought before hand and without major reason to do so, and even then, he feels intense pangs of regret and guilt for doing so. Haunt has walked the path of vengance, and found it unsatisfying, and as such he tries to keep as far away from his darker aspects as possible.
