Field Journal of Liriam Helshant, Inquisitor of the Ordo Hereticus[edit]

My new retinue seem to be working well together. Time will tell as to whether they are capable in extreme situations, but for now things seem to be working out well. A few minor disagreements between members, but that is only to be expected. As long as they can all come together when it counts, some bickering can be tolerated.

Astraea[edit]

Disciplined and focused, she was one I chose very quickly on the strength of her file alone. The Templars Calix are an order I only have mild familiarity with, but their skills in channeling the warp within battle are without question. She seems to have taken it upon herself to guard me well, which is both flattering and a relief - my prime skills are not in battle after all. I sense a conflict within herself though, most likely about her connection to the warp. This, of course, is natural - a puritan should be concerned about the taint of the warp. Still, she is a far more powerful psyker than myself and so it falls upon me to make sure she stays stable.

Sephrina[edit]

A sister of battle and one of the hospitallier order. I am quite honoured that she has chosen to join my retinue. Her name is well-known and her services are often in demand. I can see that she is uncomfortable with my psychic ability, but she is clearly trying not to make an issue of it, presumably with regard to my rank. I shall endeavour not to make her more uncomfortable. However, I can see a potential problem with Astraea in the making. I can only hope that they will both respect my wishes for team cohesion and put their disagreements aside. Hopefully in time, they will come to respect and trust each other.

Magos Sarus[edit]

He is not a typical tech-priest and that pleases me. In truth I am honoured to have one of the Logomech agree to join me. His skills at language and communication should prove to be incredibly useful. Added to that, his more easy-going demeanour when speaking with us 'organics' makes him very much a prime choice. Most tech-priests come across as very aloof, and I like that fact that this one doesn't. It's pleasing as well to see a tech-priest keen to work with the Inquisition. Many are particularly uncooperative, claiming that the Omnissiah's mandate is a greater cause than maintaining the purity of the human race.

Zia[edit]

She is a judge with a very streetwise manner - her origins are obvious. Still, we have have had some long discussions over amasec late into the night and it is clear that our views on how things should be done broadly match up. She also has some very interesting stories to tell. Unlike many of the others, she has a long background within the Inquisition and that should give her some valuable insight. i'm hopinh her experience will be useful.

Tai[edit]

A man of many talents. His versatility is to be commended. I have seen him fight and his skill is without question. But he is also a master of multiple personae and is quite the smooth-talker as well. When I read his file, he was very much one of my first choices for my new retinue and I look forward to seeing him action. From what I have seen so far, he looks like another person who may well find himself apprenticed as an interrogator at some point.

Sath[edit]

He seems to be very much the model stormtrooper. Confident and competant, but also understated. He presents himself as a man who is simply doing his job and one who will do his absolute best, enough to make the Emperor proud. Any inquisitor knows the value of good and loyal armed support and Sath fulfils that role perfectly. I worry that he may struggle with the nest of vipers intrigue present within the courts of the Holy Ordos and that some may try to take advantage of his straightforward manner. It falls upon the likes of myself and Tai to ensure that doesn't happen.

Marcus[edit]

I have never taken on an interrogator before. When my Lord Inquisitor suggested it, I was rather taken aback. I'm still not sure how capable a tutor I will prove to be, but time will only tell. Marcus Frey is quite the ideal candidate and he seems as diligant and competant as his file suggests. I have no doubt that he will prove to be a model student and will eventually make the grade as a full inquisitor. Of course that only increases my nerves regarding my teaching abilities.
