If the iconic Brat Prince had a Seneschal, it would be Jian Van Jensen; idealistic and almost constantly outraged, or at the very least simmering, over inequities and injustices that puts the bulk of humanity under the thumb of a very few, he tends to recklessly muscle in to help wherever he can. Often whether his help is wanted or not.
 
 
 
An orphan boy of mixed background, Jian was adopted by the Jensens in his early teens, plucked suddenly from subsistence scavenger living in the cracks of society to secure food and lodgings and the unlimited potential of a paid education, shoulder to shoulder with regular folk. Which he still finds a little awkward and weird.
 
 
 
Never forgetting the brutality of his youth, Jian used his new advantages to become a ship’s doctor and flew out into the verse with more hope than sense.
 
 
 
Jian tends to find himself – or perhaps more accurately, tends to put himself - in the thick of things when things, being what things are, inevitably go south. Typically choosing to wear ship’s coveralls dyed a bright crimson and modified to hold all his portable medical gear, it is never hard to spot him charging headlong into the fray when shit and fan find themselves on intimate terms, helping who needs helping and damn whoever is shooting at him.
 
 
 
A pacifist, but a practical sort of pacifist, Jian is not above causing any damage he himself feels qualified to repair and is never without the farm-heavy gas charged hypodermic he carries at all times loaded with multiple cells of a possibly less-than-legal horse tranquilizer should anyone within arm’s reach require a clarifying dose of reason.
 
  
Seeking his own brand of constant clarity, Jian eschews alcohol, but can always be found with a mug of caf or stronger stim close to hand.
