Lucrezia "Lucy" Lopez is a character in Kingdom vs. Reich.

Background

Born in Havana, Cuba to an aristocratic family, Lucy lived a sheltered, comfortable life, at least until the Sight came upon her just before her 18th birthday. Taken into the Order, she graduated from Knight training at age 21 and, being a fiery, irrepressible free spirit and blithely resentful of authority figures, immediately rebelled and went rogue, shirking her holy obligations to the Knighthood and scandalously reveling in a life of daring crime and long con jobs.

After three years of thieving, she fell in with the nefarious jewel thieves the Kerrigan brothers, Eric and Julian - and into a torrid and passionate affair with Eric, inciting the seething jealousy of Julian. The jealous sibling turned on Lucy and her lover, betraying them to the Miami police, and when the dust and smoke cleared, Eric was dead at his brother's hands, the jealous murderer was vanished into the wind, and Lucy was in handcuffs. Two years into her five-year sentence, the Knights found themselves direly short on manpower in an hour of desperate need, and pulled strings to get the remainder of Lucy's sentence commuted, contingent upon the promise that she return to the fold. With her only other option being an intolerable three more years in federal prison, Lucy has agreed to play the good little soldier... for now.

Cover ID

Lucy's cover identity is "Lisa Benedetti," an unremarkable, unassuming young woman, recently graduated from the the University of Texas with a major in linguistics, whom IRS documents indicate works occasionally as a part-time bartender in Austin, but who lives mostly off of a trust fund established by the courts after the tragic death of her parents in a plane crash when she was four years old. "Lisa Benedetti" is, to put it frankly, boring. She has no special status or noteworthy qualities, except that she can mix a fantastic Long Island iced tea in six different languages. Which might seem an odd choice for a cover identity, unless....

Although Lucy has little use for politics or philosophy, mainly considering governments (i.e., la policia) as obstacles to be overcome in the course of her various activities, she culturally identifies as fiercely, pridefully Cuban, born and raised in Havana, and only coming to America when she was recruited by the Order of Light. She's Cuban in her blood, and in her skin, and (when she's not suppressing it) in her accent. So her cover identity has one single invaluable quality, one aspect which is its sole purpose in having been fabricated and maintained for the past eight years (especially if we're playing in an America which at all resembles the real America of 2017).

"Lisa Benedetti" is a natural-born American citizen. She has a United States passport and a Texas driver's license and is a registered voter in its 35th congressional district. She "exists" solely for the purpose of ensuring that Lucy doesn't run the risk of getting detained by immigration enforcement officials when she should be gallivanting about the world while she saves it.
