The Executive[edit]

The term "The Executive" is used to refer to Julian La Pelle himself and to his domain and vassals.

Julian La Pelle, Executive of New York City and the Invictus. An ancient Ventrue who arrived in New York sometime in the early 1700s, he has been the ruler of the city for as long as anyone can remember. His childer once ruled all five boroughs of the city, plus Newark and Jersey City, in his name.

Simon the Cleaner, Caretaker of the Lancea et Sanctum. Mekhet. The spiritual leader of the Executive, Simon can usually be found in St. Patrick's Old Cathedral (the smaller, less flashy companion to the large St. Patrick's Cathedral in Midtown.)

Henry Burke, Director of Manhattan. Embraced in the mid-1800s, and the oldest progeny of Julian currently around. An effete Manhattan upper-crust socialite, he was expected to rule New York when Julian went into torpor during the 1960s. However, most Kindred in the Executive and outside it, regard Burke as an ineffective bumbler whose poor decisions led directly to the Uprising.

Jane Stillwell, Director of Staten Island. Embraced in the 1940s, Stillwell is the youngest childe of La Pelle. Staten Island is a mostly residential borough with little in the way of cultural or economic influence, and Stillwell's position was usually seen as a bit of a joke. However, during the Uprising, she took over the role of de facto leader of the Invictus from her broodmate Burke, and gained notoriety for her brutal tactics in suppressing the Carthians and Acolytes. She currently commands the Enforcers and is considered La Pelle's favorite.

The Executive's Enforcers. A group of assassins, spies and saboteurs, led by Jane Stillwell, formed in the wake of the Uprising. Previously, enforcement of the Traditions and laws across the city were left to the various Directors in an ad hoc fasion. Now the Enforcers are La Pelle's direct action arm. There are currently five known Enforcers, plus Stillwell. Rumor has it that there are more, secret Enforcers, working in both Executive territory and against the Councils. Two known Enforcers are Maxwell Russo (Nosferatu Invictus) and Jessica Melendez (Mekhet Lancea.)
