EQUIPMENT: Leal has a cutlass (damage 6 as a sword) from his time with the pirates but prefers the two daggers (3 damage) that he keeps on his person for when things must be quietly taken care of. He has a leather tunic (2 AV) that covers his torso only. He wears no other armor but keeps a holdout derringer (6 damage) in his boot. Most of Leal's previous belongings were left behind or lost but he has managed to replace his small coil of silk rope with a iron hook, a mask, candle stub, flint and steel and a skeleton key.

BACKGROUND:
Its not his fault if some people can't take a joke. Even less so if they disagree with his belief in property equality for the disadvantaged and the cotton mouthed. He probably should have known better joining in with pirates but, at the time, they were preferable to the tender mercies of the bodyguards of that noblewoman's daughter... and jumping out of a window naked in the middle of the cold night doesn't rank as one of his greater moments. At least he got lucky and grabbed some jewelry on the way out even if it did cost him them for passage and some rather gaudy clothes.

Naturally, this wasn't going to last and after one too many unfortunate misplacings of personal wealth amongst the crew set him off on a deserted island to rot in the sun. Luckily a passing merchant picked him up and delivered him to civilization - at least the first mate was accommodating and, thankfully, the voyage didn't last nine months. Perhaps one day, he'll remember to send her some silver.

For now, Leal is just an honest man trying to make a honest living in a rather unfair world.
