During Kaylob’s years as a married man, he and his wife Mialissya spent roughly four years here.  The pond is on the edge of a fertile plateau of rocky hills, fed by a web of shallow streams, leaking through the ancient rocks and forming an interesting wall of narrow waterfalls.  The surrounding area is diverse, with some tall trees next to the creek, and a wooded area beyond.  Animals would frequent the area, allowing Kaylob an excellent opportunity to learn through experience.  Kaylob built a hovel in a cave next to the pond, where he and his wife lived in peace.  When they left, he stored away what valuables he couldn’t take in a hidden cubbyhole in the rocks.  Here he had tools made of antlers and stone, some extremely well-crafted items that he’d obtained through trade, and his more rare oddities.  These were his treasures, the items he’d made from unique and interesting bits he found or harvested over the years, or items he’d obtained from others.

Included in this was a horn that appears to have been made of ebony.  One year a stag in the area looked to have a problem with one of its antlers.  Kaylob investigated more closely, and as the left antler grew out, the longer areas were of a pure black color.  The stag was sick with a strange malady, but Kaylob eventually cured him.  Later, he found the infected antler shed at the base of a large oak, and he took it, and made with it a beautiful alarm horn for his wife to sound in case someone came.

He also had roughly 4 pounds of silver in small bits, hammered together with rocks, and wrapped up in some leaves and grasses.  Within the center of this he hid an earring made of gold and jacinth.  Kaylob’s wife noticed that with it in her ear, she could hear even the tiniest sounds, and the roar of the waterfall was tremendous.  She wore it when Kaylob was out in the woods, s o she could be sure to hear if he cried for help or warning.  But, fearing discovery, Kaylob left it behind in the silver shell.

Also hidden was an eye of a sea dragon, the skin of a dire raccoon, a kua-toa skull, three ettin teeth, and a strange blue seed the size of a robin’s egg.  The more perishable items of this list were preserved as best as he could, and should have lasted at least a few years.  These were curiosities that Kaylob found and kept for no serious reason, and so left them behind.  Kaylob’s wife also left a short lock of her hair for him, if he should ever return.
