Family Position: Middle Sister and Black Sheep

Growing up, Gloria seemed to be the real Daddy's Girl of the family, hanging on everything their father did and (to the rest of her siblings) getting away with murder. This changed suddenly in her later high school years, when she suddenly started ignoring rules, screaming at anyone who tried to control her, and skipping school regularly. It was only clear bribery that got her into a decent college, and two months into her first semester she showed up at the house, took (stole, the less generous say) quite a few valuables and cash, and was not heard from by most of them for years. Eventually, she resurfaced in, of all things, sportsman's and biking magazines, having apparently been living and biking through the wilds of Canada and Mexico. Fame and apparent success at something, though it wasn't quite clear exactly what, brought a mild bit of respectability to her in the eyes of the family and they began talking again. Still, when she rolled some overpowered Japanese import into the carport the night of the reading of the will, it was the first time she'd been "home" in a decade.
