External Kung Fu

Bloodstained Tiger (Paired, Saber, Unarmed)

(based substantially on EwindaleMoss' Bloodstained White Tiger style.)

Qualities: No animal better embodies the combination of ferocity, power, and speed than the mighty tiger. Practitioners of this style focus on crippling and then quickly finishing their opponents with brutal and direct attacks. It is popular among warriors and those who favor inducing terror and awe in those who stand against them.

Laughs At: The Tiger laughs at victims who give ground or retreat - don't they know the Tiger will never give up? It also laughs at over-clever or elaborate styles; such displays are easily shredded by the tiger's claws.

Fears: The tiger grows nervous in the presence of a skilled hunter. Their snares and strikes from range defang the great beast. The Tiger also fears confinement; it is at its most powerful in the wide open plains.

Techniques

Hunting Tiger Rush (2 or 6)
The powerful legs of the tiger are not used for dodging and weaving – they are used to charge toward their prey in a vicious pounce! Practitioners of this style emulate the tiger’s deadly lunge.

  • You have a +5 bonus to Cover Ground.
  • For an additional 4 Destiny, the Damage bonus of this style increases to +15 after completing a Cover Ground wave.

Mighty Paw Swat (3)
Before the kill, the tiger enjoys toying with its prey.

  • You have a +5 bonus to Disrupt Marvels.

Rage of the Hungry Tiger (2)
No beast can match the fury of the tiger when its prey dares to fight back.

  • When hit by a Strike or Marvel, you can flood a die from the River to Reply against your opponent, inflicting 1 Ripple upon her. You can do this only once for any given attack, even if it included multiple elements that hit you.

Savage Rending Claw (5)
After landing a strike, the tiger drags its claws, cruelly ripping and tearing flesh and sinew.

  • When your attack inflicts a Ripple on a target, you may apply a -5 penalty to her Strike, Block, or Footwork next round. You can only do this once for any given attack, even if you inflict multiple Ripples.
  • This penalty counts as a Disrupt.

Tiger Culls the Herd (4)
When the tiger strikes out at a group of prey, any weakness invites the mighty beast's claws.

  • The Strike bonus of this style increases to +15 against disrupted opponents.
