In the far Kingdom By the Sea, Mecha – or Magnum Opos, as they are called – is the greatest creation of Alchemy. Naturally, there are delinquent pilots and Alchemists who use the power of Alchemy for sinister purposes, and that’s where you come in. You are a National Alchemist, a Magnum Opos pilot who works directly for the President. You may not be an actual Alchemist and just a hotshot pilot, but you hold the title of an Alchemist regardless. Now mysterious Magnum Opos is menacing the Kingdom, and the President want you to deal with them!

A Bowser-level baddie has invaded and is wreaking havoc, and since the heroic plumbers are away it's up to you, the Mushroom Kingdom Retainers, to save the day. Maybe this time, you'll actually get day in the limelight.

Note: You wouldn't have to play a Toad, though the option is open. Since this is inspired in particular by Paper Mario, a lot of the traditionally "bad" character types, like Goombas, Bobombs or Koopas, would be valid player characters.
