Mr. Wolf, through bits and pieces of retained memory, knows he was used and recycled anew, but optimized for the purpose of hunting down demons, or to a lesser degree, other supernatural beings. Of time he began to wonder at the number of 'malfunctions' and why this happened.
Thus doubt crept in, leading to him letting a target in Bristol escape on purpose. Mr. Wolf Fell then. That demon was in fact a member of MI666 and would end up sponsoring his introduction to Her Majesty's Secret Infernal Service.
